No crime is too atrocious to save a beloved.

Storm spirit Reiko meets the peculiar girl, Yuki, at the Palace of a Thousand Rays to continue the story of Immortal Ayame and Warlord Kyuzo on the road to Sunlit City.

Nara winter is harsh, and enemies wait around the bend. The entourage arrives at the capital with a loss of life. Yet the dying is only beginning.

When the emperor crowns Sora, the Ishii clashes head-on with Prince Hissing Blade. In the twisted games the dark diviner plays Ayame becomes a hostage, and to save her Kyuzo must break an oath to his emperor.

The Sinai War begins in the second installment of the Royal Diviner Trilogy, and heavy losses mount on both sides.

Full of heartbreak, betrayal, magic, and morally grey characters, Find Me is a dark fantasy tale with a hefty dose of romance.

For the clarity: I received an advance review copy for free from BookSirens. I choose to use the site, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you both BookSirens and Brien Feathers for the opportunity to read such works that I may not otherwise have the chance to.

Find Me is the second of The Royal Diviner Series. I won't make as much sense or have as much impact without reading the first, Remember Me.

Remember Me, I found to be very sweet and the main character, Ayame viewing the world with rose colored glasses. Find Me, is a step up in the epic, fantasy journey that began at the end of book 1. Ayame has learned quite a bit, grown attached to the human world more, but still has a lot to learn. Continuing to follow her, Find Me was more of an emotional journey for me as the reader. There is so much that happens, good and bad, that it was a rollercoaster of a read. Some things I expected, others that completely took me by surprise. At times I was grossed out with the gory vulgar actions of the villain, times I wanted to cry with Ayame, other times that I was happy and cheering her and Kyuzo on. Puff continues to be my favorite and a comedic relief.

Brien Feathers excels at twists and keeping my attention captivated. I highly recommend her books. There is not a single one I haven't liked.

Grief is eternal
Yet again, this author shows us her tale-telling skills. I enjoyed the previous book and I think this one tops it. It’s rich in culture and conflict.

Fave lines:
‘News travels fast…and lies even faster.’
‘You’re a few lanterns short of a festival.’

An underlying theme is of good and evil. There are many conversations (both internal & external) regarding individual wants vs greater good, peacetime vs war, personal accountability vs imposed trauma, specific acts vs the whole person, etc. We are who we are based on choices we make as well as choices others make for us. I say we stop ‘dreaming of a world where men weren’t at war with each other all the time’ and start actively building it.

I need a minute before starting the last book of this trilogy - ‘Keep Me’.

ARC Review:
4/5 stars
1/5 spice

I thought the first book in this series was good, but this one was phenomenal. It picks up right where the last book ended, and it had me right on the edge of my seat for the majority of the book. You know the joke about how as readers we talk about how we tell someone a book will make us cry, scream, throw the book, and ripped our hearts out right before we recommend they read it? This is that book.

We see characters grow and realize they even when they thought they were doing the right thing, sometimes they weren’t seeing the bigger picture and how their actions affected many. We see a goddess wrestle with morality— what is good? What is evil? How do we decide if someone is good or bad? And how do we decide when evil deeds are necessary for the greater good? We see a character who seemed to be finding their stride stumble and falter. Will they recover and be the answer to the plight of Nara?

I was excited to see my theories be spot on, but even better was the author throwing in a twist at the end for a beloved side character (possibly some others) I didn’t see coming.

My only issue is that knowing the questions I have, I’m afraid one more book won’t be enough. Hissing Blade still needs to be dealt with. And Ayame has 3 more years before she goes back to the immortal realm. And then once she’s there for possibly hundreds of years trying to fix the in between, what happens? Does she fix it? What else happens? I feel like this needs to be 4 books to adequately answer all the questions and tell the story.

Brien does it again and weaves a spellbinding narrative through a spirit's voice, drawing me in so deep I almost forget the present-day frame. The clues about Reiko's true identity, and Ayana’s whole life in the floating world continue to keep me on the edge of my seat. Lush descriptions and raw emotions make this book a masterpiece. My heart aches for the inevitable sadness I expect to read in the final book, but I can't wait to see how Brien ties this epic saga together. She knows the ending, and I wish to experience the journey it takes to get there.

Oh my gosh! All the feels. Happy sad, excited, horrified, entranced, and so many more adjectives I could go on and on forever trying to encapsulate what I felt while reading this book. I want more and there will be another book to round out the story and I will be patiently waiting for the author to write, edit and release it. I recommend this author and all the books she has written. The blurb /synopsis will give you a brief introduction and if you are interested, you will not be disappointed. I could continue to gush with more gratitude and appreciation, however, I will end with my customary, enjoy!

As it unfortunately tends to happen with the middle books in trilogies, I felt that this one sagged a little, and was a bit of a disappointment in some aspects.
The first 60 to 70% dragged too much, with the author spending time and attention to issues that frankly, as the story evolved, proved to be a little unimportant and felt a lot like fillers. Enter the final 35% to 30% of this novel and it's full speed ahead, far too fast, with everything happening in quick succession - which is not a bad thing provided proper attention is given to the unfolding events. For me, the author failed massively in doing so, and parts where she could have elicited a visceral response from readers as they dived into those bits of plot and narrative, passed by with barely a gasp of surprise, because so much space had been previously given to stuff that simply didn't matter. There were at least two major moments in my opinion where the author could have grabbed readers by the throat and make them wail in shock and anger, but they were saddly not used for milking readers' reactions.
I still find Ayame/Reiko a curious character, interesting in her own manner - she's like a child, an immature teenager, for most of the time, and thus interesting to follow along. Kyuzo, I don't much care for him, he always comes off as a charicature of sorts. I previously mentioned that my favourite characters were Wraith, Sora and Goodnight and that I hoped to see more of them - i.e. i hoped the author would exlore them more in depth, but that failed to happen. They remained like shadows of what could have been, sadly. There are also a few things Ayame/Reiko keeps mentioning that I have yet to see develop and become part of the tale, since the character seems to afford them so much importance, but I fear they will remain Tchekov's guns until the end, so I'm curious to see how book 3 is going to develop and tackle all these lose knots and plot holes. I'm also curious to see how I'm going to enjoy the rest of the tale, now that my 3 favourites are no more...

Reiko the storm spirit is waiting in the palace for the young girl Yuki to hear the rest of the story of Ayame and her Warlord Kyuzo on their way to the Sunlit City. Yuki is late, but as promised she tells Reiko of a journey made during the Nara winter, the group will be attacked by enemies, and they finally arrive in the city with fewer warriors. It isn’t long after the emperor declares Sora as his successor to the throne that the group is attacked, this time trying to escape the city. Ayame will be captured and held by prince Hissing Blade, as dark diviner, with his own agenda. Kyozo has made a promise to the emperor but will break that to save his love.

Fascinating, unique, and well written cast of characters that kept me engrossed in this book. Murder, magic, demons, betrayal, and enough twists in the plot to make your head spin. This read has a lot of violence, and some pretty graphic intimacy, and even implied rape, as well as characters with their own definitions of right and wrong. All of that said, I loved the book and highly recommend it to others.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Ok Brien! So the first book left me a.bit confused. The main character annoyed me and the ending left me with SO MANY questions. However, THIS INSTALLMENT.. whew! It still started out slow which I expected because of reading the first book, but when it got started, it kept rolling. As always, the world building was great. I could envision each character, the landscape, the gore.

I see Ayame and her swollen belly and could smell the stinch of death that came with the epic battles depicted. I laughed, and I cried reading this book! All questions I had from the first book, Remember Me, were answered in this one. The ending left me with my mouth hung open, sad and upset that I have to wait for the third book.

I am looking forward to reading the third installment of the Royal Diviner Trilogy, Brien Feathers writing gives me the feeling that it is going to be a page turner, Find Me was an amazing read!

Mythology, warlords, emperors, magic gates of power, political maneuvers in ancient times, and of course, romance. This mystical dark fantasy will have you flipping those pages well into the twilight hours, and you'll be begging for the final installment. I was hooked with book one, and book two was just as enchanting. The storm goddess is without her divine power in a time of war and blood, and she'll travel the ravaged lands to be by her warlord's side whether that is in the mortal realm or the inbetween. She will follow, and I can't wait to read book three! This author has a way of sucking a reader right into the heart of the story, and I don't normally read third person limited, but I loved every second of it, and I'm rooting for the storm goddess all the way!

This is not a standalone, quick grab book one immediately!

WOW!!!
Where do I even start? Find me is the second book to the Royal Diviner Trilogy and I seriously don't know what to do when it ends.

I am an emotional wreck after finishing this book. From laughing to crying to even screaming a little bit, the emotions won't turn off.

I am so glad that Puff was in this book more, his character is honestly one of my favorites because of the sense of humor he has. Goodnight is also one of my favorites for that reason, they keep the story light at times when things are starting to fall apart.

I absolutely love this fantasy romance and even more so the Asian culture that we are being exposed to.

My heart isn't ready for this trilogy to end, I will definitely be rereading them forever.

Thank you Booksierns for my advance reader copy.

This is the second book in the Royal Diviner series and you must read "Remember Me" first as this is a continuation.

Just like the first book, we follow Ayame and Kyuzo. There is so much love, mystery, deception, war, intimacy, and fantasy but all written in a very simple, beautiful way. I was happy, upset, and shocked at specific parts of the book. I stayed up for a few night reading just to know what would happen next.

The author's writing style is nothing like I have ever read before but it does not stop me from picturing the scenes and characters perfectly. It's very refreshing.

I'm very excited for the third and final book in this series.

Thank You Brien Feathers and BookSirens

The is the Second book in the trilogy of a Dark Fantasy World. The Female lead is so refreshing and a page turner to see how she will solve the Challenges that arise as she continues on her journey. Some of the questions that were left unanswered were answered in this book as well as a more indepth look at the characters and the new world.

I am looking forward to see how the whole story wraps up. In my opinion, this second book could be read as stand-alone or the second book of the trilogy.

This is the second book in the Royal Diviner Trilogy. This book put me through an emotional roller coaster.

This book picks up with the first book left off. You get to read about Ayame's growth as she starts making more connections in the mortal realm. You are heavily invested in her story.

I love the cast of characters and I can't wait to read the final installment in this trilogy.

What a wonderful sequel to Remember Me and with a beautiful twist at the end. The author keeps us hooked with that little note about the last scene of the full story being the first thing she 'saw' for this story. This is the first time I have wanted to read an ebook, and now two. The writing makes staring at a screen worth it. Otherwise I am a paper and glue kind of reader.

Find Me(Royal Diviner Trilogy Book 2) by Brien Feathers. This is a good book and I think others will like it too. In this book Storm spirit Reiko meets Yuki at the Palace of a Thousand Rays to continue the story of Immortal Ayame and Warlord Kyuzo on the road to Sunlit City. I have a suspicion of who Reiko and Yuki really are but won't find likely find out until book 3.

Such an intense and quite dark read. Unexpected things and deaths happen, it’s crazy. Kyuzo was growing on me here, and I like the ‘new’ crew and their dynamics (Reaper and Kitty, ha!) I couldn’t wait and started the last book right away.
