Anjal: A Demi-God Shifter and a BBW Fated Romance by Tiffany Ann

First I want to thank Tiffany for reaching out to me and gifting me a copy of Anjal. I commented on someone else's review and she asked me if I wanted to read it as well. Of course I wanted to. Because the tropes, the blurb, it instantly sucked me towards the book. And I completely and utterly devoured it. The following opinions are my own.
The book starts with Anjal suddenly sensing his mate. He tries to hide it from his friends but they quickly realize what is going on and encourage him to go find her.
Meanwhile Priscilla is holding the baby of her co-worker Lisabeth and suddenly she hears tick-tock. A sudden maternal urge takes her over and she is trying to locate where the tick-tock sound comes from. She thinks she is going crazy.
A few days pass and when Priscilla is going to Lisabeth she spots a stranger on his bike and he suddenly starts walking toward her. And kisses the hell out of her. He quickly explains they are mated and that she must come find him when he is ready. And that is what kick-starts the story.
This is a wonderful, slow burn romance story. I love the body positivity aspect in this one. Priscilla is a bigger girl with curves and an amazing body. While Shay, her best friend, is very skinny and doesn't have a big chest. I love that both woman are adored in this novel and that it sends the message that however you look, you belong and you are accepted.
I also loved the friendships in this book. Priscilla, Shay and Lisabeth are all three fierce woman and each have their own strength.
And the brotherhood between the men was admirable as well.
Jamie's character arc was the best out of all the characters. I am glad he learned from everything that happened and became who he is in the end.
I secretly hoped for a bit more spice. And bit more depth overall in the book. But all in all a fantastic read!

I really enjoyed this book! Tiffany Ann has written a beautifully addictive slow burn romance about two fated mates finding each other and the dangers the truth can bring.
I loved Pricilla! She’s a sweet, caring, sassy woman, who’s living an ordinary life…or so she thought. Until an annoying ticking sound starts coming from her body. She’s completely thrown and dumbfounded about what is going on, until out of nowhere a very handsome, sexy, strong male appeared and kissed the hell out of her.
From there her whole world is thrown upside down and everything she thought she knew about herself, has turned into utter chaos. The only thing that was clear was the strong bond and attraction to this strange man.
Anjal is such an amazing character, I loved him too! He’s a Demi-god who’s been brought up with traditions and after finding his mate, he had to reevaluate certain things to help accommodate his mate. The fact that he can transform into a strong, fearsome bull just adds to his sexy aura. When it comes to his mate, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do!
I also adored the friendships. To Anjal’s group of mischievous men to Pricilla’s two very close friends. It definitely was a fun adventure.
I’m really looking forward to reading their stories. 😁

When looking into that little baby’s face and deciding then she’d like one of her own… to suddenly feeling and hearing this loud tick-tock sound. What is causing this? What will make it stop?
This is a total must read! I honestly could not put this book down, I was hooked! To read a man who is so use to traditions being known, to then have to woo his mate while she is reluctant as she has no idea what he’s going on about!

I fell in love with Priscilla’s story with her struggles of being adopted and over weight the fact that anjal was attracted to curvy females before even seen her was prefect. The love anjal family shown Priscilla from the very moment they met her even jumping to a threat to the entire community be located just because it was her siblings is amazing. I can’t wait to read Shay and Jayce story hopefully we will find out if Priscilla becomes pregnant.

Omgeeeeee!!!!! When I tell you I could not put this book down I am not exaggerating. I read it in one sitting and was upset with all the interruptions lol

After some time she seeks him out and they start getting to know each other but there is danger they don’t foresee. Will Anjal be able to get to Priscilla in time? Will she give in and finally accept Anjal? This book was too good and I can’t wait to hear about her sister and her mate

Tiffany Ann you have out done yourself on this one! I love this book! The story of Anjal and Priscilla just hit so many emotional feelings for me. The adoption, the being overweight all emotional feelings that societies put upon us. This book is awesome and has a fairy tale love to it. The characters are absolutely wonderful all of them. I cannot wait to read all of their stories (hint hint). I am so looking forward to Shay and Jayce's story at least i hope it is with Shay. I highly recommend this book!

I really enjoyed this book. When I started reading I wanted to keep reading. I enjoyed the characters.
Anjal heard tick tock while he was at the bar with his cousins. And then Pricilla could hear the tick tock while she was holding a baby. Anjal followed the ticking until it stopped. And then that’s how their story began. I feel like everything fell perfectly for this book! Each of the characters worked perfectly for this book. The mystery of what happened was awesome. I loved how Priscilla and Shay didn’t know they were really siblings. I am excited to read Jayce’s story. And Jamie being a nicer brother when he realized he truly cared for his sitter.
Go give this book a read!(: it was such a good read.

I have read many of Tiffany Ann's books and have enjoyed them all. This series though may have just became my favorite by her. The characters are intriguing, I love how she incorporated characters from her other series into the telling of this story. The characters from the other series help the story line and keep everything linked while giving them their own series. I am waiting impatiently for book 2 which I know will be just as amazing if not better than book 1. Boys and girls she's done it again. If you haven't read her books yet you really do need to.

I could not put this down. I picked it up on Sunday and finished it last night. This story is everything a shifter romance should be. There is a plot and real romance happening. This is a slow burn but fast read. The pacing is quick and POV shifts are perfectly done. I have to say I was hesitant going in. I was worried this would be like every other shifter romance, and I would end up DNFing it but I flew through it faster than any other book so far this year. I LOVED IT!!!!
Minotaur, mazes, hunters, and witches! What isn't to love! The banter between the characters is perfect. There is a balance of show don't tell that allows you to experience the world through the multiple POVs.
I'm going to be honest this is only my second Tiffany Ann book. I have another of hers and I just ordered her Hotel Lamia, because I want more of her writing. This is the type of romance writing I've been looking for. So much of it recently is just thinly veiled crap but this was amazing. I am hoping I can get ahold of book two early. I think I have found my new favorite romance writer.
There is only one spicy scene in this book which I appreciate in a romance. Especially when it comes to shifter romances, most of the time it is, Find Mate, Consummate Mate Bond, oh there is a plot hook...more mating...more mating...oh there goes the plot... Not here. The romance building between Angal and Cill was heartfelt and at times brought tears to my eyes, because having a soulmate isn't about just being with the right person, it is about being the right person for your mate.
I felt for Cill when it came to her relationship with her brother, how nice it would have been had they had that relationship she wanted from the start, hopefully we see more of that newfound love between them in book two.
I'm not going to lie the entire time after it was hinted about Shay I was rooting for her, but I didn't expect that twist.

I would give this one ALL the stars if I could. This shifter romance blew me away! I page turned well into the night to finish this in one sitting.
It has EVERYTHING I want above and beyond what I usually love in a fantasy read.

Absolutely blown away
I loved the new twist on the well-known mythical creatures. I was super excited to see how side characters from a different series were brought into this book. As some one who has read every book of hers, seeing these well loved characters from her very first book was great. As a lover of shifter romance, this is definitely one of my favs of Tiffany's.

It’s been awhile since I’ve read books about demigods. But also a shifter? This is definitely a first for me and it didn’t disappoint! Didn’t know what to expect about this book since it’s my first read from the author and I loved it. Finished it in one day! It’s fast paced with a little action and spice. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

This book surprised me, I was expecting a romance story with a curvy FMC and a shapshifter MMC, but there is more to this story with a meaningful message.
While yes, it is a fun and exciting romance story with shapeshifting minotaur, there is a beautiful message for not just curvy people but for everyone that we are all beautiful no matter our appearance!
I felt like I could easily relate to the character of Priscilla, she is comfortable and confident in her own skin but she still has that undesired voice in her head saying she isn't good enough but girl you are!
Now Anjal, you magnificent man/beast, I love you!
The way he was instantly enthralled by Priscilla had my heart racing.
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For coming into my life. It's been empty until now."
I adored when Anjal defended Priscilla from Jamie when they went to meet her family, Jamie made me angry in that scene.
When Anjal did everything in his power to help Jamie even though he was a threat to them, that was remarkable and showed how much he loves Priscilla.
What Jamie did for Priscilla in the end was beautiful and heartwarming. Jamie became someone I could start to respect in the end.
"I need you and only you. You're my reason for living."
The setup for the next book was great! I honestly can't wait for it, I will be eagerly waiting for more from this series.

Anjal is hot. Not ifs, ands, or buts about it. Not only is he an alpha male, he’s also the sensitive type, which only adds to his stunning allure.
Priscilla is curvy and she’s real! And that makes her a fantastic character because the reader is rooting for her immediately.
Together these two are a magical mix of humor and flame.
Nothing is lost when you dive into this book. It’s all there, the drama, humor, spice, and so much more. Not only is it wonderfully written, it’s also a quick read as well. If sleep wasn’t a necessity I could have easily read this in one sitting.

oh my gosh!!
I don’t know what to say and I have a whole lot to say at the same time! I’ve been waiting for this one! Just seeing the cover reveal has me intrigued.
I don’t think I’ve ever read a romance about a Demi God before. This was amazing. The world Tiffany Ann built is incredible. I loved it and could almost picture it.
I love how Cill first meets Anjal. I won’t spoil but darn dude!!! I love their relationship. I’m so glad this is a series and there’s more to come. I can’t wait to read the next one. And I really liked that we get an update on some characters from her others series. I’m so happy for Rey and Lisabeth and seeing Willow again made me some. And Shay? Darn I knew I liked that girl!
I don’t know what to say and I have a whole lot to say at the same time! I’ve been waiting for this one! Just seeing the cover reveal has me intrigued.
I don’t think I’ve ever read a romance about a Demi God before. This was amazing. The world Tiffany Ann built is incredible. I loved it and could almost picture it.
I love how Cill first meets Anjal. I won’t spoil but darn dude!!! I love their relationship. I’m so glad this is a series and there’s more to come. I can’t wait to read the next one. And I really liked that we get an update on some characters from her others series. I’m so happy for Rey and Lisabeth and seeing Willow again made me some. And Shay? Darn I knew I liked that girl!

Addictive Shifter Romance
Reality can wait because it is easy to devour this book in one sitting. Minotaur, witches, and a swoon-worthy story with all the feels. Anjal and Priscilla hear the clock ticking, and the pull toward their mate begins. Loved the story. Amazing read.

Wow! This book is super good! Once I started reading I could not put down!!! I love her books! It was such a great read! Characters from her other books were in this too! This book takes you on a fun adventure ! Can’t wait to read more! Highly recommend!!

I listened to the Audiobook of this story by Tiffany Ann which was narrated by Carly Morrison.
Carly did a really good job at performing all the characters in this book.
Priscilla and Anjal's romance is a slow burn because Priscilla keeps fighting her connection with Anjal.
Anjal is a Demi-God half bull and half human he senses Priscilla as his fated mate and he will do what it takes to make her his.
Priscilla is a teacher and is Human or so she thinks,she discovers as the story progresses that her life is not what she thought it was.Everything she believed to be true was all a lie,she was adopted and has a twin sister and the person who is her twin is someone she didn't expect.
Priscilla also keeps hearing the ticking sound of a clock and it only stops when Anjal is around.
She also finds out that she is in danger from someone who she didn't think would hurt her...Anjal coming into her life as turned it upside down...telling her the truth about her heritage and family.
Anjal will do anything to protect her she means everything to him,So when the unthinkable happens and Priscilla can't be found he does whatever it takes to find her.
There is alot going on in this story and It is well thought-out by Tiffany Ann,I also loved that her female characters do not have perfect bodies..they have insecurities like we all do,because Priscilla is curvy she doesn't feel good enough for Anjal...But Anjal loves her and he LOVES her body,he worships her and makes her feel beautiful.
This is a very intriguing story and I have to admit it took me a little bit to get into it but once the story got going I was able to enjoy it and want more.
A great listen.

I don’t regret reading this, but it definitely isn’t something I’d want to re-read. While I appreciate the originality of Demi-God shifters (Minotaurs), the plot/story itself was a bit too simplistic & predictable. It sort of read like a Novella (skimping on world building and character development), though Amazon says it has 225 pages. I found myself skimming (stuff that didn’t really feel important for the story to progress) just to get ahead -trying to finish the book quickly. I had already guessed who was going to grab the FMC to hurt her for the “twist” in the story before it even happened. I never really felt like I knew the characters, so I’d say they were flat. While the MMC was sweet towards her, I didn’t really feel the connection/love between them other than them “stating” it. On top of that, it felt more like a “happy for now”, than a “happily ever after”. I’d have preferred the last chapter wrap this couples’ HEA up, than a bit of a snippet to entice for the next book, since I wasn’t at all interested in that new couples’ story. This didn’t inspire me to want to continue with the series at all.

Amazing narration of Carly Morrison, who brings the characters, emotion, angst and steam to your ears.
Anjal starts to feel the pull of his mate. He tries to hide it from his friends/brothers. Realising what is happening to him they quickly realise what happening and encourage him to go find her. Priscilla is visiting her friend Lisabeth in hospital after a baby, she hears tick-tock. A sudden maternal urge takes over. Problem is the tick tock keeps happening and she wonders if something is wrong with her.
While out Priscilla with Lisabeth a stranger on his bike walks toward her, he bends and kisses the hell out of her. Calling her his mate and the tick tock stops. Anjal sees Priscilla and loves her curves and knows she his mate.
This book is a wonderful, with slow burn romance. Loved the friendship between curvy Priscilla and her friend Shay, who is skinny. Both woman are adored. Priscilla, Shay and Lisabeth are all fierce woman.
Loved the men and their brotherhood.

A literal biological clock
This is the first installment from Tiffany Ann’s new series, The Children of the Sun God. I’m not that familiar with the god Helios, but that did not detract in any way from the story. There are characters from Tiffany Ann’s two other series in this story, but it is a stand-alone story and does not require you to read anything from her previous writings. She does write very spicy, so please be aware of this. I loved the world and character development and am anxiously awaiting the next installment of this series! I have not completed reading her other series, so I won’t have a book hangover, but I will definitely be watching for the next one!! Well done!

Anjal is a minotaur, half man and half bull. He fixes motorcycles while living in a special place with family. Priscilla is a single teacher who was adopted. I devoured this book like a pizza, and Anjal is the perfect topping - a delicious blend of alpha male and sensitive soul. Priscilla is the relatable best friend we all need, with her curvy figure and down-to-earth personality. Together, they're a match made in heaven, serving up a plate of humor, passion, and drama. This book has it all, and I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to reading the rest of this series!

I loved this story! I wasn't sure what to expect but I love this author's stories, so I grabbed a copy. Seeing characters intertwined from the other series helping out the new ones while they establish their story and world was awesome. I can't wait to learn everything about this world!
