When I met Dr Carolyn Dean twelve years ago, I had several inter-related health issues that were deteriorating over time. So, I spent years reading her books and blogs and listening to her audio recordings. This self-education led me to focus on nutrition and lifestyle changes which helped me immensely.
Little did I know at that time that I would end up editing her latest book, Magnesium: The Missing Link to Total Health. So please know that I have been involved in the book editing and production process.
But that doesn't really matter. What matters is that even after reading her books and listening to her recordings, Dr. Dean, an internationally recognized and awarded expert on mineral therapies, has the power to surprise me again. Her "Twelve Fun Facts" and "2022 Research about Magnesium" are new material. This makes Magnesium: The Missing Link to Total Health a welcome update and renewal of her NY Times Best Seller, The Magnesium Miracle.
If you are experiencing "Total Body Meltdown" like me or just want to enhance your health and physical performance, understanding the miracle of magnesium is a must!!! I highly recommend you read this book today!!!
This was such an eye opening book! Well-researched and referenced. For a self-help nonfiction book, this was a very easy read. I had so many pages tabbed by the time I was done! There is so much more to magnesium then I knew.
"Magnesium: The Missing Link to Total Health" lays out info about this much needed mineral first then by individual disorder/disease and how it can benefit each. It states how magnesium is responsible for 80% of body functions, how magnesium deficiency is rampant and a current public health crisis, how too much calcium can negatively affect magnesium levels, gives insight as to how much magnesium (& other electrolytes) we actually need, what type is best, and many other useful tidbits.
As you may or may not know I've been on a slow healing journey the last 5+yrs, after becoming chronically ill overnight and unable to work. I've had a lot of great doctors and have improved (so thankful to not be bedridden anymore!) but still a long ways to go, so when I got a targeted ad for this book I quickly decided to spend the ten bucks to get it.
I have since been trying to increase my magnesium (products shown in image ☝️), with epsom foot baths, magnesium lotion, and magnesium glycinate capsules. With my gut issues I'm working on, I can only take one capsule a day, so the lotion & foot bath works great to add more everyday (it's crazy how well our skin absorbs things). And for someone with migraines, anxiety, and leg cramps/restless legs, increasing magnesium has been so helpful!
Long story short. I highly recommend this book for anyone, but especially those with health issues.
Dr Deans work has changed and continues to change my life in the best way imaginable. It is no coincidence she came into my world when she did and I will remain eternally grateful for her, her knowledge and her sharing it with us.
This is an excellent book by a great lady. We live in a world that is magnesium deficient don’t realise the amount of damage that it is doing to our bodies. Keep up the good work girl.
