It was high time to deal with one of the most enigmatic movie directors ever. In this excellent non-fiction biography by a film critic you'll read about his childhood, the early films, screenwriters, are on set with Murnau, wonder about two rediscovered films, wonder about the riddle of Nosferatu. There are many great black and white photos and movie stills inside. Furthermore the critic shines a light on his lost films (only 12 of his 21 films survived), the last German films, the American debut, his premature death and in the last chapter his own copy of Nosferatu. Extremely informative and compelling. For everyone who has watched Nosferatu and wants to know more about it's director a must read. Highly recommended!
