Scientific Prayer will enable you, sooner or later, to get yourself, or anyone else, out of any difficulty on the face of the Earth. It is The Golden Key to harmony and happiness. To those who have no acquaintance with the mightiest power in existence, this may appear to be a rash claim, but it needs only a fair trial to prove that, without a shadow of doubt, it is a just one. You need to take no one's word for it, and you should not. Simply try it for yourself, and see.
Emmet Fox was a New Thought spiritual leader of the early 20th century, famous for his large Divine Science church services held in New York City during the Depression.
First, my Official Rating. In my view, given what the author aimed for, to what degree was that accomplished? Emmet Fox richly deserves his *****.
It's a common New Thought, or New Age, teaching to "Let go and let God." Never have I read or heard anybody else describe this teaching so vividly. Clearly, Fox had the standing to teach this concept. It worked for him.
If this is of interest to any of you Goodreaders, when I write, "It worked for him," there's a context. My professional work includes using good skills of energetic literacy, plus skills developed expressly as an Enlightenment Teacher, in order to explore what was going on his consciousness... based on researching a photo of him online.
According to this research, Emmet Fox did move into Spiritual Enlightenment. Highly unusual, but yes, there he was: Gloriously joining the ranks of Abraham Maslow, Carl Rogers, Carol Gilligan, Hermann Hesse, and some of my other heroes. (To learn more about my perspective on this, go to the Rose Rosetree blog, then click on our most popular post.)
Now, though, I'll follow up with a review that shares a second kind of rating, my Personal Rating. Here's where I'll give a second number of stars according to my current opinion... and my personal values. Just one star, with considerably-considerable respect due to this magnificent spiritual leader and writer.
What Worked for Emmet Fox Did Not Work for Me
Although I gave the Golden Key a good-faith effort, literally and figuratively, it didn't produce results for me.
In hindsight, and to be a bit technical, the biggest problem for me is that I still had a whole lot of stuck STUFF (astral-level garbage) in my subconscious mind and aura. No amount of prayer (or meditation) was enough to make a significant difference.
If the Golden Key technique works for you, it might conceivably move out STUFF permanently, helping you significantly. For me, I needed a different methodology.
To be clear, I respect and admire Emmet Fox's work. This part of it just wasn't for me.
Life changing technique for prayer If you are a person in any 12 step recovery program, I call this essay - the 3rd step in steroids!! Helps any non believers incorporate the principles in a psychological light
There really is no need to make solutions to a dilemma complicated. Apply the Golden Key solution. It is portable, even fits in my pocket. My first thought as I read it, was my daughter's would find it helpful but not overloaded with heavy religious ritual.
We have no need to make our solutions to a dilemma complicated. The Golden Key will be at your beck and call from the moment you read it.
The title says it all. This is the key to everything. Read it often!
I have read this this book several times in the past few days. It is the day 0 for my #88Days audio set for raising consciousness and creating a paradigm shift. The Golden Key is Scientific Prayer which can help us sooner or later get out of ANY difficulty on the face of the earth. If Universal Laws are real and if God is real then they MUST be real and workable and applicable in every situation, no matter way. Thank you.
I found Emmet Fox while reading spirituality books related to the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. Fox was a key member of the New Thought movement which encourages people to improve their lives by visualization.
Fox also thought God was omnipotent and omnipresent and that all people had to do was recognize this power and presence for their lives to improve. It has the vibe of hucksterism and the introduction is honest that the material in this brief book would have been available as pamphlets for people paying to attend his lectures - I think like a 19th century Tony Robbins. Personally I do like meditating on a concept of God that is in everything - which neutralizes the concept enough for me to be possible - but Emmet Fox is firmly a Christian.
Other brief ideas in the book I liked: - The door of the soul opens inwards.... meaning the harder you push the tighter the seal, the key to spiritual matters is to relax and recognize that we're often in a prison of our own making - One must be "Born Again" or "Die Daily" to awaken a new path of divine intervention. This seems related to the AA concept of surrender and is at least worth thinking about when dealing with problem like alcoholism - That overcoming difficulties and rebuilding your own consciousness should be seen as the Great Adventure of life. This last part is the most useful for me and reminds me to treat each of life's difficulties as a gift.
Love Emmet Fox and his work - I have quite a few of his book. While he was a popular author many years ago, his words and know, edge are truly timeless and so helpful today.
Fox writes simply, yet he has golden wisdom of the ages. I read and reread most of his writings, particularly when I am working through challenges or difficulties since I find his writing comforting. Highly recommend.
The Golden Key was unknown to me prior to this, as was it's author, Emmet Fox. I found the ideas contained in The Golden Key and the other essays to be very unique, interesting, and intriguing. The applicability will definitely vary greatly from person to person, but 5he ideas are worth exploring at the very least.
If you have ever felt lost, exhausted, or just needed a quick pick me up, this essay is like a warm fresh cup of coffee on a brisk snowy morning in the pacific northwest. Carve out a few minutes to sit down and listen to this buttery soft feel-good moment.
Sometimes we think things should be more complicated, however The Golden Key makes it so simple yet it's so powerful. Definitely a good read and highly recommended.
Este libro tiene enseñanzas muy similares a las de Neville Goddard, sólo que mucho más resumidas. Está bueno para empezar a aprender sobre la ley de la asunción pero no tiene mucha información práctica para uso cotidiano.
There were some good aspects but too many things that just smelled like a prosperity gospel and other things that I outright disagreed with. Story about the person in prison was good. Story about the person with an illness was not.
This is what is at best keeping it simple for magnificent results. Definitely about what you focus on grows. So pure for imperfect people with great results.
Emmet Fox has a straight foward way of saying things ; a common sense approach to stating the obvious. We instintively know what to do. We just stopped listening to that voice inside us somewhere along the way of living our lives. God is always the answer.
Emmet Fox centers everything on the individual’s direct relationship with God and maintaining that spiritual connection, which gives his work a more devotional quality than some New Thought writers who focus more on mental techniques or prosperity.
