the book i read is titled bad luck basketball this book is about a person named brandon whitler. and he plays for a basketball team called the chesterfield clovers. there team really sucks, all brandon wants to do is win. but his team gets in the way of him doing well. it ended in brandon hitting a game winning shot in the playoffs.

"coach couldnt stop telling them how proud he was", its showing how excited/proud coach hanson is because brandon hit the gaming winning shot in the playoffs and they never made the playoffs before so i would assume thats and exciting moment for the coach and the team. it reveals aspects of brandon and his team because they have finally made the playoffs and played there hearts out.

ive made a connection to this story, its about brandon hitting the game winning shot. my team has also hit a game winning shot in over time which is pretty exciting if you ask me, and my basketball team also sucks so im kinda in the same situation.

The clovers had never been expected to win a game. And it seems as everyone wants to blame brandon for not making the shot. But i think that they can do better if they actually try to help and stop putting pressure on each other and brandon.

The Clovers (Brandon's basketball team) have never made it to the playoffs before. Brandon and the rest of his teammates are looking forward to turning that around. In practice Brandon stepped under a ladder and everybody believed Brandon would have bad luck. It got to Brandon's head and he started believing that he truly had bad luck. Finally Brandon realized there's no bad luck, so he started to play much better since the bad luck feeling wasn't rushing through his head. The Clover teammates realized, right after Brandon realized that bad luck wasn't a real think. The Clovers started to play a lot more like a team with energy, teamwork, and passion and made it to the playoffs.

I really liked this book because there's always something happening with bad luck involved in it. I also really enjoyed this book because I enjoy watching, reading and keeping track of sports. If you're a sports fan, Bad-Luck Basketball is a great book for you.

We have classed this book as a "quick read:" in our library. It is a good book for our more reluctant readers. The boys who like sport enjoy the story about a basketball team that has the chance to play in finals and the strange propensity we all have to look for lucky signs/symbols rather than rational thought about success and/or failure.
