This volume presents a non-technical introduction to the study of environments. Looking at the breadth of environmental sciences, each topic is presented within an interdisciplinary, environmental context. How landscapes are formed and change, what produces the world's climates, and how living organisms are affected by change and adapt to their environments are all explained, and a wide range of environmental concerns are addressed - from climate change and the greenhouse effect to soil erosion, pollution, biodiversity, and human population growth.
It was a really good book, I really appreciated the variety of case studies it pulls together! Gives the reader a run through from earth sciences all the way through to simple chemistry. It is not as in depth for college students studying the subject!
