What fun to read this book!
I read the whole Spark Brothers series before reading this one, which tells the story of their parents.
What a delightful, romantic, and fun book to read!
When put in a situation, these two characters find their past knowledge of each other is not what is current. Life changes, and sometimes for the better.
Can they handle this long road trip without going crazy?
Liwen Y. Ho is becoming one of my favorite “go-to” authors. I think I’ll definitely be reading more of her books. Her stories are packed full of sweet lessons from God about how He loves us. They also have wonderful examples woven throughout on how to cherish relationships.
If you like tender stories of love, friendship, and overcoming crazy emotions, then this is a book you should read.
I highly recommend you pick it up!

A Forbidden Spark was the prequel short story I didn't know I needed! Infused with the author's trademark humor, sweet romance, and Christian faith, new readers will enjoy this introduction to the famous Spark brothers series with the couple that started it all, and longtime fans will love getting the OG Mr. and Mrs. Spark's story (back when they were only John and Mia.) I mean, all those guys came from somewhere, right? 😉 Fun, flirty, and with a swoony romance that still keeps it clean, I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this short story. Just a slight warning: you may want to binge-read this series after finishing its prequel. ~ 5 stars!

This was a fantastic prequel to the Sparks brothers series, which I have read and love so much so that I plan to reread the series again! Contemporary Christian fiction at its best! I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book by the author, but it did not in any way affect my review. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this very short read. There were sweet moments but also many laugh out loud moments. It tells you how the Sparks brother's mom and dad got together. You won't be disappointed.

I enjoyed reading the Sparks parent's story. Now I want to read the series again. This is one of my favorites. This prequel was a fun quick read.

Another great story from this author. I really enjoyed the travels and relationship between these two. The chemistry was great in this sweet, clean romance.
