This is a collection of short articles, most of them originally published in Rodale Press's newsletter, At Your Best. The articles are about how to have a great attitude, how to get along better with people, and how to be more effective at work. This book is being used as a textbook for a Life Skills class in San Diego. You'll learn effective strategies for developing your emotional, professional, and interpersonal skills. The chapters are almost all short and to the point, with a short summary of the core principles at the end of each chapter. The material is practical and highly readable.
I'm not too fond of self-help books, but this one was actually good. Its language is clear and simple which makes it easy to read. The author also supports most of his arguments with valid studies and research. However, there are a few things I don't completely agree with such as the chapter about finding a mate: there's no formula for finding the right partner, I think. Overall, there are some things in it that are worth reading and trying out.
