Das Buch umfasst in seiner Kürze die wichtigsten Begriffe der nordischen Mythologie. Da es nur einen Überblick vermitteln soll, kann es dementsprechend nicht wirklich in die Tiefe und die Einzelheiten aller Elemente gehen.
Es wird an verschiedenen Stellen darauf hingewiesen, welche Teile der Mythologien häufiger vorkommen und in welchen Bereichen verschiedene Ideen im Laufe der Zeit entstanden sind.
Leider ist es durch die Kürze jedoch auch etwas unübersichtlich. Das Buch soll für Einsteiger geeignet sein, doch spätestens bei den Sagen ist es für Unwissende sehr schwer zu verstehen, wer jetzt wen an welcher Stelle getötet hat, da die Namen z.T. einfach auftauchen und nicht näher erklärt werden.
