In the course of his professional life, John Upledger — the alternative healer who created CranioSacral therapy and SomatoEmotional Release — has been recognized internationally as a leading investigator of new health therapies, with many followers around the world. In Lessons Out of School, Upledger tells his life story, from his youth as a jazz musician and gang member, to degrees in psychology and osteopathic medicine, to a stint in the Coast Guard during which he discovered his healing talents. The emphasis of the book is on his lifelong exploration of various teaching himself acupuncture, helping autistic children, and developing his groundbreaking techniques. This illustrated memoir concludes with a run-down of current projects, including past-life regression, channeling, and "dialoging" with cells.
This book chronicles the life of Dr John. It tells of his discoveries along the way in the area of health and the CranioSacral system of the body. I found some of his stories engaging but not all. The book is worth reading but I would give it a 4.5 if I could. Not a full 5.0. More into at http://www.Upledger.com
Upledger is the founder of the craniosacral system of the body and this book is a sort of biography as well as some interesting anecdotes and other stories he has learned throughout the years.
This was a really interesting view into the mind of a brilliant man. Because it read as if typed directly from face to face interviews, it was occasionally annoying, but quite revelatory.
