My Cradle, Your Grave

This is not a standalone book but part of a continuous romance suspense series. As such the plot runs throughout the series and contains cliffhangers. Some parts will be resolved others will be resolved later in the series.

DI Devlin Doyle is a detective with a past, if only he could remember it. After a case goes wrong he finds himself in a new city and launches into an investigation that hits closer to home than he knows.

DI Serenity "wren" Jones is a woman in a man's world. To succeed she's had to be tough. When she's assigned the task of "babysitting" a new detective sent from the London's met office, she is less than impressed.

As an investigation of a series of assaults turns to brutal murder, they find themselves in a race against time, digging through a past crime, to solve murders that rhyme.

My Cradle Your Grave by Sharon Jackson is a romantic suspense novel. T this book kept me on my toes from page one. This book is going to be a part of o series. The plot was engaging and grabbed my attention from the beginning. It had me questioning what was real and what came from this author’s vivid imagination. There were so many twists that even if you tried to keep up you could not. The characters Serenity and Delvin were well written and you could see them as real DIs.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and if you like a good crime book pick it up. I can not wait for book 2.

A must read crime thriller

If you like your crime books with twists and turns, then Sharon is the new author you've been looking for. Her stories grip you from the first page and don't let you go even after the last page has been turned. I absolutely loved My cradle your grave.

A fabulous murder mystery!

Sharon Jackson has written a fabulous murder mystery!
She pulled me in on page one and kept me hooked until the last word.
Dev and Wren, the main characters, were well written and the character build up through the book was spot on. I loved that the antagonist used nursery rhymes as his calling cards. I found the storyline unique and original. I can't wait to read the next!

This book was a good read. It definitely keeps you on your toes while reading through each chapter. I could not imagine that the story would unfold the say that it would have and that the characters would have been blamed the way that they were during the stories' end. The story was given a cliffhanger at the end, giving it an opening for a book 2. It was a bit hard to keep up with the stories back and forth during the story to really get the bigger picture, but as you go further into the story, you're finally able to make out what is going on.

DNF
Apologies to the author, as she is a lovely person, but I need to be honest in my reviews...
I'm sorry to say but this book is poorly written and badly edited.
Also, it's not the book that was pitched to me.
Sold to me as being Seven but the killings are based on nursery rhymes. The prologue aside, by a 3rd of the way through a murder has still to take place.
What I had read before putting it on the DNF pile was troubled romance.

This is not my usual type of book but I do occasionally pick them up. It did pull me in and although I did get a bit confused at some points I was able to pick up what was happening.

You will think you know who it is, but there are some twists you don’t see coming. Th book ends of a cliffhanger which will lead to the next book.

Such an amazing read, you’re hooked from the beginning right through to the end! It’s pretty gory but written extremely well. I can’t wait to get stuck into book 2!

The first thing to accept about My Cradle, Your Grave is that it ends on a cliff hanger and you're going to want to read the second book in the series, Snakes and Daggers, immediately after you finish the first.

The second is that this, by definition, is a crime novel with bloody descriptions and troubling psycological themes. If you dislike cliff hangers or like your crime cosy or themes gentle, this is not the book for you. However, I loved it and truly could not put it down. I read it well past my bed-time, in the train and even neglected dusting and washing dishes to read the next chapter of this unique story.

I was surprised to discover My Cradle, Your Grave was a debut novel. The characters are well developed and beautifully drawn. The back story is delicately revealed and cleverly manipulated. This does not read like a first book.

My Cradle, Your Grave is an exciting crime novel and Sharon Jackson is a talented author to watch out for going forward.

Honestly, I really didn't click with this book to be quite honest. I got kind of lost in the whole story. however, in the end I did understand a little more but to me it didn't really make sense and it didn't make me want to keep reading it, however I wanted to know the ending, so I did read it all the way through. It did end on a cliffhanger so be aware for that for book 2.

Phenomenal but I'm angry

Oh my goodness, I will start by saying I'm not a 3d person reader usually but for this I am. This is a crime book so some scenes may be a little disturbing for some. Sharon definitely put her twisted mind on a role here, she didn't fail to add twists and turns.
I've ended this book angry so it was definitely, quite clearly a 5⭐ read.

I loved this book from beginning to end! It was very attention grabbing. All the mystery and twists and turns it threw at you was amazing. It had me on the edge of my seat a few times while trying to put the pieces together! The ending floored me, and I cannot wait to find out what happens next!
