A really interesting read not only regarding Susan's life, but also her personal struggle with dyslexia. Amazing grit, stamina and perseverance were the hallmark requisites of what was needed to keep her fighting to overcome her disability. Such a lot to inspire and admire about Susan's struggle with dyslexia especially. I have always enjoyed watching this fine actress but like so many others had no idea of the raging battle she faced every day just to read her scripts. I highly recommend this book.

I found this a fascinating read. I have often wondered how Susan Hampshire's dyslexia allows her to tackle scripts by Ibsen and those based on Trollope's Palliser novels and Thackeray, et cetera. Her triumph over her struggles is admirable and I love her optimism and zest for life!

Whilst you have to admire her struggle against her dyslexia, far too much of her autobiography is taken up with that aspect of her life.We learn very little about her films and virtually nothing about her second husband. So thankfully it was a quick read.
