“The one who reads this is blessed, and those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep what is written in it are blessed, because the time is near!” —Revelation 1:3 (HCSB)
Respected Bible teacher and beloved pastor Adrian Rogers takes readers on a breathtaking journey through the “blessing book” of Revelation with Unveiling the End Times in Our Time. Indeed, Revelation offers every Christian believer a dramatic and hope-filled overview of what the end of days will be like.
Although some think Revelation is confusing, or even scary, with its talk of dragons and beasts, the text contains a proper understanding of where his- tory is headed. Rogers makes clear how the signs of the times already reveal God's plan for bringing his people to full redemption, empowering us to live boldly while expecting the return of King Jesus as the triumphant Lamb.
Curious how a book on the end times (a frightful subject for many) would also be entertaining with Adrian Rogers' usual wit and charming stories. Highly recommended.
This is a good book for the introduction of the Book of Revelation in the Bible, and it is journey throughout the entire book of Revelation. This has taught me a lot of about it, and he also lists out interpretations of the book, and gives some reason behind the ambiguous nature of Revelation. Although, sometimes it did not go in depth on a interpretation that I wanted him to, I understood the interpretation but just wanted to hear more about it. I guess that is kind of a good thing actually because it forced me to research on my own. I also really like his ancedotes relating to each idea of the chapters, I thought those really cemented the ideas he was trying to convey. I really liked this I opened my Bible and was taking notes in there while I was reading along with this book.
The only set back was sometime I felt it was kind of monotonous to end each chapter or sometime each section with you need to get saved, and I'm like you're preaching to the choir. I felt like most of his audience is already saved, but I understand we need to take every opportunity but I feel like if you mapped out the book it would be a little bit under a half of the book was set aside for this. But that really didn't bother me that much, I'm just trying to find a valid criticism for this review. But other than that it does a really good job of fitting the Gospel in this book, and it wasn't in a noticable way it was in a way that flowed good with the book.
"The gospel is a double-edged sword. It is a savor of life unto death. If the death of Jesus Christ will condemn you. His blood will testify either for or against you." - Adrian Rogers
What a great book for explaining the End Times in an easy to understand manner. Scripture-based and backed, this is a must-read for anyone needing clarification and peace with the book of Revelations.
Very informative. Amazing how the Bible has explanations for what is happening in our time. That's what this book helps you understand and where to find it in the Bible.
Before I became a full-time staff worker, I used to listen to hours of the late Adrian Rogers' sermons when I was working in Kuala Lumpur on the way to work and back using public transportation. I was not a serious Christian, I didn't go to church regularly, and I lived a rebellious lifestyle. I was like sinful king Herod who loved to listen to John the Baptist even though he became greatly disturbed every time he heard him preach (Mark 6:20). But instead of beheading Adrian Rogers, I bought this book to learn more about the Book of Revelation that he passionately preached in a weekly series through the Love Worth Finding radio ministry. I cannot say I was convinced during that time (still skeptical and dabbling with the world philosophies), but it does spark my interest to read the 'weirdest' book of the Bible firsthand.
This is a good devotional walk through the book of Revelation from the late, great preacher Adrian Rogers. Rogers teaches the premillennial interpretation of Revelation as popularized in the Left Behind books (among many others) and writes in a warm, friendly style that is easy to digest for readers of all stripes. There is an ongoing evangelistic thread throughout the book that repeatedly presents the Gospel to the reader and invites him to reject the world and the devil and choose God. The book falls short of five stars because Rev. Rogers makes only passing reference to other eschatological models and while he presents his own view of Revelation clearly, he never really explains WHY he believes in that viewpoint or WHY he isn't, for instance, a postmillennialist. Definitely a worthwhile read for all students of the End Times, but not the kind of authoritative work it might have been.
This is an excellent companion to the Book of Revelation. Adrian Rogers presents a clear understanding of the symbolism of Revelation and its parallels to both Old and New Testament scripture. Most importantly, Rogers presents the message of Hope for believers as we look toward the second coming of Christ and our eternal life with Him.
This book was quite an interesting look at the implications of Revelations. However, as the book is been around for quite some time now (the author passed away in 2005) the references to modern day seem quite dated now and hard to relate to. Still the core of the message is good, and a worthwhile read for any Christian.
