I really enjoyed this book! I love how Louisa has built this world in Ballydoon where all characters have their own little stories. I was so happy to see an update about Ash and Cody towards the end and I really enjoyed the dual perspective of Jet and Ari, especially given it was primarily long distance texting and conversations. Can’t wait to read another of Louisa’s books

Argumento:
La vida amorosa y laboral de Ari ha sido desastrosa y llena de escándalos. En su humilde opinión, el amor no existe, salvo para vender novelas y entradas de cine. Todo lo que Ari necesita es una noche de sexo de rebote para olvidar a su ex (sin contagiarse, muchas gracias) antes de comenzar un viaje en solitario por Australia.
Qué mejor lugar para encontrar un hombre que la noche de citas rápidas del pub local. Y cuando un hombre magnífico entra con bíceps y antebrazos que avergüenzan a los novios del libro de Ari, Ari espera que el Sr. Flexing Forearms acepte darle lo que necesita.
Jethro acaba de heredar la pequeña granja en ruinas de su abuelo, después de años de viaje como esquilador. Una noche de citas rápidas parece ideal para conocer a alguien especial. Quizás incluso The One. Pero en cambio, se enamora de una amorosa escéptica que se va de la ciudad.
Cuando su noche juntos se convierte en mensajes de texto diarios, llamadas y preguntas sobre citas rápidas, Jet se da cuenta de que está metido en algo muy profundo. ¿Pero Ari también siente lo mismo, aunque esté a miles de kilómetros de distancia?
Mi humilde opinión:
The Longest Speed Date es un romance con temática de San Valentín, aventura de una noche, relación a larga distancia, héroe se enamora primero y heroína escéptica del amor.
Después de su una noche juntos, Ari y Jet comienzan una especie de amistad a larga distancia que a medida de que ella avanza en su viaje en carretera se convierte en algo más profundo. El intercambio de mensajes textos, las postales enviadas, las tarjetas de preguntas sobre citas rápidas y las videollamadas, todo eso me pareció divertido, dulce y sexy.
Jet podía sonrojarse, ser algo torpe pero a la vez tomaba el control de una manera sexy. Me gustaba su humildad y era tan comprensivo. No exigió nada a Ari sino que la apoyaba en su viaje para encontrarse a si misma. En realidad la apoyó en todo lo que hizo de principio a fin.
Ari tenía un lado que me gustaba pero otro que me frustraba. Me enojé mucho cuando Jet le confiesa sus sentimientos y ella no se lo toma bien porque no creía en el amor? quería a Jet solo como amigo? No entendía sus razones para no aceptar que se enamoró de Jet. Él demostró ser constante y lejos de ser como su ex. Me pareció una tontería no solo el enfado sino decirle a Jet que saldrá con alguien más en una cita y encima lo hace hasta que se retracta. Menos mal que entra en razón, se disculpa y hace su viaje de vuelta para confesarle que lo amaba también de una forma muy romántica.
En general me gustó la historia, sentí que los protagonistas se enamoraron a distancia, disfruté toda esa parte y el final fue lindo porque cumplieron sus sueños juntos.

I finished The Longest Speed Date, by author Louisa Duval last night. It was a wonderful heartwarming story, which made me laugh, and it made me cry too ! I was . . . Still am . . in love with Jet ( Sorry Tom 😘) and was desperate for his HEA.
Ari and Jet are a fun couple of friends, who take it further . . . the banter is flirty, then sexy, then sizzles . . . .
You won't be disappointed if you pick up this novel. It has all the feels.
