Yee Haw! the Marshall and his Deputies ride (fly) again!
When is a win NOT a win? Is it possible to win and still lose? That’s what our team of heroes has to cope with in this latest installment.
Those episode it’s all about characters’ character as they successfully face the many challenges this book sees them face. But with each win comes an even greater loss that somehow ameliorates any sense of victory. With each instance we get better look at what drives these guys.
We especially get a better look at Jock and Remi in this one. They aren’t quite the 2-dimensional goof-balls, anymore, and this is all to the good. Charli’s character also gets a makeover, becoming something more than merely angry all the time.
The book ends on a somber note, but that perfectly sets the tone for the next book to play a bright refrain. I can’t wait!
Beau and his people are trying to handle multiple problems to get the marshals back on track. They have a war to aid in, a consortium to take down, and their reputation to get back after a reporter turns a story against them. Things are getting dicey for the Marshals and I cannot wait for the next book to see how everything gets resolved.
As in the previous stories there are several sub plots and new races being introduced. The story is fast paced with plenty of action and with villainy that must be addressed by the Lone Wolves. Looking forward to the next book in the series
Jamie Davis knows how to get a reader hooked on a series. Of course I knew Michael Anderle could but it's always fun finding another. Jamie's characters are so intriguing and no matter what configuration they work in it works. Thanks for helping me get through another day. Enjoy
Really enjoying this series. The only let down for me was the lack of continuity with admiral sommers. The author states this was the first time he was at the tardex station/system yet at the end of book 7 he was there for the memorial services following the deaths of members of the tardex marshals.
The worlds of this story the characters and pace of this is great, In this day modern heroes and the idea of doing the right even when hard. I so look forward in these books to see what happens next and I am always surprised and pleased
Action, intrigue, and fighting evil throughout the outer reaches of the Federation empire. This intrepid band of heroes works to protect the innocent through another well-written installment. Only two more months before the next chapter.
I love the way the story continues from book to book. Not only does it grow but it does it in a way that is easy to follow and keep track of all the players. I am sad that there is only one more? book to go😐
Book 8 manages to find a resolution for most every story thread found at its beginning and leaves the reader hopeful for the next installment and resolution of the rest. Along the way some foes become friends and some friends find new paths.
New allies, new adventures, space battles, espionage, roaming through sewers, and some funny AI participation. Thorough enjoyed this sequel and can’t wait for next epic follow-up. The stage is set!
A CLIFFHANGER the end of this book has an avalanche of really good Science Fiction and I'm about to start the final frontier with the last book in the series!
