This book is written with preschoolers through kindergarten aged children in mind. This is one of five books in a series on the senses. Simple text that mentions things that can be smelled around you (earth after the rain, bread, perfume, etc.). The illustrations reflect this and are done without overwhelming the focused concept. This would be a recommended read within a "five senses" unit.

Easy and nice addition to teaching senses. Spanish edition El olfato available.

This was a very informative book. In the beginning, it has several examples of different things everyone may smell on a daily bases. I think this would be a good book to use in the classroom to explain the sense of smell. It gives short sentences and descriptive cute pictures to express the sense of smell. Then at the end, it is very informative giving facts and functions on how the nose works. It also gives a picture of the nasal cavity that students may be interested in learning about.
