This story was the sweetest! Willa is getting up in age (by Amish terms) and still isn't married. Her older sister is pushing her towards a matchmaker to help her , but she has decided she is not interested. Marriage just never appealed to her. She had courted a lot, but it was always missing something. She just wasn't sure what. But then here comes Aaron... he's running from a harsh religious community and struggling to find his place physically, emotionally and spiritually. He's still grappling with the death of his wife and a religious community that was threatening to take his daughter Maggie away. He moves near Willas Amish community to work, but he has no interest in religion, church etc. That is until he meets Willa. In the beginning they are opposites that are constantly bumping heads, but it becomes clear to them both that they are only fighting because they are fighting off attraction for each other. Even if they wanted to consider a relationship... it's forbidden. So they try to stay clear, but can they? As feelings grow, but they keep hitting more and more pushing against their relationship they both realize they may have to just back away. If Willa can't have love with Aaron, then maybe she will just consider a convenient marriage with whoever she's matched with. But is that the right choice? What would you risk for love?
I gave it a 4 because I think I wanted maybe a more drawn-out ending... more time to savor that HEA, and it sort of happened faster than I would have liked. But all in all, I loved it all the same.
I loved this story. I read it all in one sitting. I can not wait for Eleanor's story. I halfway wonder if Jon (the man she's always helping) will be her love interest... but that's just my guess. She could also get Sara to match her with someone... so we will see?!
