A good, light, review of the backstory to some of the GSM patterns we all know and love, along with nice tributes to great fly makers/creators, both of our day and of past days. The pattern recipes alone are worth the price of admission. One star deducted because some of the pattern recipes don’t match the photos—clearly a different hook in the photo than what is called for in the recipe, white calf tail in the photo where the pattern calls for brown, etc. I understand that there is a bit of artistic license in any fly pattern, but it seems that the photo should match the recipe. Otherwise a great book to have on your shelf if you tie your own flys.
