I love this board book! It's full of simple words that I use every day with my toddler. I love how it re-enforces those words as part of a bedtime book. It is perfect if your tot is repeating words. The real baby pictures are a lot of fun too because my toddler can point out the baby on the page. For us, this is a great fit.
Thank you, Sourcebooks Kids, for an advanced reader's copy.
Amazing book! It was so perfect that this book goes through a bedtime routine. It both helps kids learn about routines and getting ready for bed, and it assists kids in learning how to use basic words. It was written with simple words that kids will be able to pronounce (or try to) and is no doubt the ultimate bedtime baby book. It's fun, but it is also educational. Lastly, the short bit at the end will definitely equip parents will tactics, tools, and techniques they can use to promote the forming of words. These tips are easy to understand and use, and will be so, so helpful to parents and babies alike. Bravo!
I am looking for more bedtime books for my child's bedroom so we borrowed this one from the public library to see if it would be a good addition to our bookshelf. It seemed promising since it is written by a speech-language pathologist and it is full of photographs of real people. The routine in the book is as follows: dinner, bath, pjs, brush teeth, read, tickles from mama, hug from dada, turning off the light, and then getting into bed. I was surprised to see tickles in a bedtime book because I know my kids would have a harder time falling asleep after that. We also don't have a "dada" in our household and I wish the book said "we hug" instead or something so that it was more applicable to single-parent families, LGBTQ+ families, etc. However, I understand that the author was probably trying to get more early vocabulary incorporated into the book by specifying mama and dada. Ultimately, we won't be buying our own copy of this book but I am sure it is a good fit for other families.
A great bedtime book. This series is a winner at home. Pairing a regular routine with simple beginning words/sounds for a baby/toddler learning to talk. I appreciate the tips at the end of the book to make this book helpful for all grown-ups and kids.
Great for babies who are maybe nonverbal and are struggling to say words. Great for all babies/toddlers in general but especially for early speech development
Love the style of this book! Super cute and I can tell it was written by a SLP 😂 I got this book through a kids book subscription service and it’s probably my favorite one that we’ve received so far
