A rock-star, a music archaeologist and a Neo-Nazi – something, or someone, ties them together.

1976 - Heydrich’s widow dies in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Her son Jose, a Professor of Music Archaeology, discovers two safety deposit boxes and their grisly contents. For him, Europe and an enigmatic rock star hold the key to uncover the truth of the past and what his parents really did during the war. What he discovers is worse than he could have possibly imagined.
In the end it is Jose who has to stop the inevitable finale of what was begun thirty-four years previously – the resurrection of the Fourth Reich!

Jeremy Good has studied Egyptology and visited that country many times. His interest in ancient Egypt and World War Two history figure often in his novels.
He lives on the south coast of England with his two sons.
It had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, with colourful characters and an intriguing plot; well written, in a very descriptive style which brought the story to life.
Jose Heydrich comes across as an intelligent, sensitive character, whose quest to discover the truth about his father’s role in the second world war, lures him on a perilous trail which which places his life in danger. The book is as much a mystery as it is a thriller, starting with the strange ramblings of a charismatic rock star. Having discovered the disturbing contents, left in two secret safety deposit boxes, Jose stumbles across a mysterious book, which brings him into contact with a former Jewish concentration camp survivor. Secret codes hidden in the book, trigger a mystery which combines Egyptian hieroglyphs with a mysterious energy extracted from the depths of the earth. It is this discovery however, which attracts the attention of a sinister neo-nazi group and before Jose truly understands what is happening, he is thrown into a terrifying game of cat and mouse. It is later in the story, he hooks up with a captivating German youth and eventually a Brazilian journalist. Together, they endeavour to outrun their enemies, solve an ancient mystery as well as save mankind from a terrible destiny.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery and a fast-paced thriller, with some nail-biting scenes, throughout.
Jeremy Good has written a very enjoyable novel that also manages to be that little bit different in an intriguing way…
It is set in the 1970’s and parts of the story go further back in time, but to a time that is slightly different to our own. This book has an element of the supernatural, there is a lot of mystery, whilst all the time it’s written as a fast paced thriller.
