The Inheritance

Rate this book
Dan Martyn never forgave his father for remarrying after the death of his mother, Marie. New half-siblings complicate the family dynamic and father and son clash often. Unwilling to take a "handout" job from his father's Baltimore shipping company, Dan leaves home, attends night school and works as an auto-mechanic in a run-down section of Philadelphia.

The gulf between Elmer Martyn and his son only seems to grow the more successful the shipping company becomes. Years pass. Dan marries and buys out his employer's share in the garage, working long hours to make ends meet. He struggles to connect emotionally with his bride, Rose, a woman who seems to understand him better than he does but, desires above all else to overcome their fertility problems.

Elmer Martyn's sudden death acts as catalyst in the lives of the entire Martyn family, forcing Dan to face his anger and embark on a personal quest--spanning three continents--alongside his spoiled half-siblings, his wife and Elmer's most trusted advisers.

Rated "T" for mild language, action, rude humor and graphic description.

I definitely enjoyed this story as it has an interesting plot and some great messages, to relay. Three half siblings must go on a trip together, to three different places in the world after their father dies. In each of the places he has left one of them something to find as their inheritance.
The only problems with the book, were the grammatical errors throughout, but not enough to make me stop reading.
