Rate this book
Two complete novels in one low-priced edition

Sun River
Mister Skye is big, tough, and knows the West as few others do. He's agreed to lead a party of missionaries to the Blackfoot Nation: to get there, they must pass through land controlled by the Crow and patrolled by the Cheyenne; and they must stop fighting among themselves about everything. To get there, the party won't survive at all, without Mister Skye.

Bannack
Barnaby Skye, a pressed seaman in the Royal Navy, jumps ship at Port Vancouver with little more than the clothes on his back. I had heard about this series years ago, but never had the opportunity to check it out. Then I ran across this edition which has the first two novels in the series. It's more a historical story than a western as the protagonist, Barnaby Skye (Mr. Skye) is a mountain man and guide, not a gunslinger type. Not to say there isn't action because there is, but there's also a lot of nicely described imagery. I could feel like I was there in the upper mid-west. Lots of colorful characters and some surprises. I liked it and think it's worth checking out.
