20 books15 followersI have been writing fiction for so long I can barely remember when I didn't. Sometimes people ask where I get my ideas and I can't comment too much on "ideas" either, since they come one at a time from different sources. SHADOW ON THE MOON came from a submission call for paranormal romance and since vampires were fairly well owned already, I decided to do werewolves. After that it became--and this is true for all books--a matter of putting the story together, scene by scene, then going back and making sure to leave in the good parts and take out the boring parts (which is my writing motto).
That seems to work for me. I've made a half dozen or so national bestseller lists, won a PRISM award for my sci-fi time-travel and been a finalist in a number of other well known writing contest. Now, I'm jumping into the pool of previously traditionally published authors who are choosing to publish independently. I'm truly enjoying the freedom and control this gives an author.

The story is called KNOW WHEN TO RUN (Romantic Suspense). Expect maneuvers that make this crime thriller exciting and fun to try to solve.

Now, the handsome Western Dude, sporting his ten-gallon hat and cowboy boots, is left with drooling desire as she leaves the room. Co-owner of the riverboat, with her husband Jim, is Rosie Ortega. She’s Ky’s bossy and protective best friend who grabs her hand and ‘poof’ they disappear.
Gabe stands there staring at Ky for only seconds but she catches his magnetic look. As for Gabe... he’s stubborn. Somehow, he will meet her!
Although he has no clear idea why the riverboat casino is on his list of leads, Gabe asks lots of questions. Soon after he connects with Ky Taylor, she tells Gabe her story, which he doesn’t buy and it’s ‘cat and mouse’ ever after! She’s his prime suspect but wants to believe her story and it doesn’t take long for them to rock back and forth for the truth as the steamy romance begins.
In no time, her life is threatened and Gabe is almost decimated a couple of times trying to protect her. Now that a romance is brewing it gets tricky. Gabe, off-and-on, accuses Ky of jumping bail and won’t believe her loss of memory tale. She argues back that he’s after the wrong girl. She couldn’t kill her father. Other threats enter the picture. These complicated scenarios with action-packed mysteries, kidnappings, escapes, and flare-ups escalate. Expert Martial Arts moves, hi-tech skills and secret passwords to enter the mix.

Know when to Run by Connie Flynn is a 2013 publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Gabe McGregor a bail bondman has got to find a murder suspect accused of killing her father. If he doesn't find her his business is sunk. When his former brother in law comes in with a tip about the woman's whereabouts, Gabe takes off in a last ditch effort to save his business.
Ky is working on a riverboat casino, lying low in case her abusive ex were to locate her. She gets an urgent warning from her friend Rosie that a man has been asking questions about her . But, Gabe McGregor still manages to catch her, throwing all she knows, which isn't alot, into question. You see, Ky has no memory of her life before her friend Rosie found her nearly beaten to death and nursed her back to health. She doesn't remember her ex-husband or their life together. But, when Gabe tells her she's the daughter of a ruthless banker and is wanted for his murder, Ky refuses to accept that. She may not know who she is, but she does know she isn't capable of murder.
Gabe isn't sure what or who to believe. He wants to believe the attractive red head that calls herself Ky. But, there are things she says that causes him to doubt her alledged memory loss. It also appears that the law isn't the only one interested in Ky and both she and Gabe appear to be on someone's radar. Ky doesn't know what's going on, but the woman they claim she is was a lot different from who she really is. Gabe and Ky are hot then cold. One minute he believes her and wants to protect her and the next minute he is supsicious again. For Ky, it's mind numbing to think she could be this "Kathleen" everyone is talking about. Is it possible that there is a case of mistaken identity? Could the sweet, damaged, and shy Ky be a ruthless martial arts expert and a cold blooded killer?
This very fast paced romantic suspence thriller started off with a bang and never lost momentum. From start to finish the author kept us on the edge of seats with explosions, fights, twist and turns, and hot romance. Once you start reading this one you will not be able to put it down. As explosive as it is, it is also a really tender story that shows that love may really be the all powerful thing so many scoff at.
This one is an A.

Witty, Suspenseful and Hot - Know when to Run by Connie Flynn begins with excitement and moves forward with exciting twists and turns. The characters are well developed and descriptions are so real you feel the tension and smell the fear.

Ky Taylor works as a blackjack dealer on a riverboat casino. She doesn't remember who she is. Two years ago someone nearly beat her to death. Now Rosie Ortega and her husband are her protectors. She is being hunted by people who think that she is Kathleen Templeton. She is a suspect in the murder of her father. Gabe McGregor is sexy but also the most persistent of her pursuers. He wants to turn her in so that he can get back his bond money. Their attraction may be growing like a wildfire but he doesn't believe she has amnesia. Suddenly they are both targets. Who wants them dead? Who killed her father? Connie Flynn has written an exhilarating and suspenseful adventure. Know When To Run is a combination of romance and mystery. The characters are strong and compelling. Ky and Gabe's attraction adds romance and sexual chemistry to the story. The supporting characters may be devious but they add surprising twists and turns. I enjoyed the roller coaster ride. I couldn't put this book down. I needed to have the murder solved.

Very likeable characters throughout the whole book. A wonderful couple who takes her in and tries to protect her.
A steamy relationship in the works?? So many twists and turns.
Very hard to put down. Very enjoyable.

Loved Know When to Run by Connie Flynn. It was a real page turner and kept you guessing with all of the twists and turns. This book had everything, mystery, romance, action, adventure and humor.
