"Big Foot" Wallace was one of Texas's most famous folk heroes in the days of the republic and the years thereafter. He was captured at the Mier Expedition, survived the drawing of the black beans, and spent months in the Mexican prison of Perote. First published in 1899, this book allows the readers to share in the adventures of a unique Texas Ranger.
It was interesting as you can tell it was written verbatim as told to the author. It seems almost impossible that someone who had lived through so many deadly encounters lived such a long life.
