Hi There!
I am a Floridian based indie author who is creating her own world one book at a time! You can expect a lot of dark, smutty romance from me! I write in dual point of view, usually no more than three characters.
As of right now I have written mafia based dark romances, but I am expanding my horizons into other genres. However, one thing I promise my readers, I will ALWAYS write dark romance; regardless of the genre. <3

Up In Flames by Sarah Sisk

I went into this one completely blind! I had no idea what this book was about, but was impressed by how much I enjoyed it! I love the idea of an age gap romance, especially a forbidden workplace romance, where there’s hidden secrets and they’re each other’s “dirty little secret.” The storyline for this one was good! From the beginning we knew she was important to her boss, but later we found out why and it seemed like everything was trying to keep them apart, especially things from their past. He was ready to take on the world for her, and I was here for it!

The spice was spicy! He was possessive and dominant. She was submissive in the right way, always giving him what he wanted. As someone who’s not really into the “Daddy/Good Girl” kink, it was done tastefully for the most part. I like that he made sure she understood his desires and the importance of using her words and her safe word if things got too wild. In the end, she was just as freaky as he was…I can respect that!

There were lots of twists and turns in this story! Lots of sad moments that made you really feel the emotional trauma of the characters, so make sure you read up on the CW/TWs as some are mentioned in the past and brought up in conversations. These things affect how the characters evolve throughout their lives and help shape who they are currently in the story. Lots of wild things happen, but I was happy with the ending.

This was a new indie author that I found on TikTok and her first book was amazing. I couldn’t put it down once I picked it up. Looking forward to more books from Sarah!

It has a nice amount of spice mixed with action to keep the story moving and the reader wanting more.

Up in Flames 🔥 gave me Haunting/ Hunting Adeline vibes. This is Sarah Sisk’s first novel and it did not disappoint. I love a good “touch her and die” book.

The spice was there: knife play, toy play, some bondage play, anal, oral, and vanilla sex.

What kept this book being a 5 for me as a reader was the beginning. I love a character build up. I want to know the characters I am reading. I would have loved some stalking vibes in Jeremy’s perspective. A little background story of Eva and more interactions of her and Jeremy at the coffee shop. I couldn’t visually see Eva in my mind because there wasn’t a description of her physical character until page 38. The beginning was rushed for me.

About half way through this book I couldn’t put it down. I cant wait to read more from this author! Great Love story in the Fourth Degree 🔥!

Sarah’s debut novel had a good storyline with plenty of spice to keep it interesting. I did feel that the beginning was a little rushed and I would have loved to see her expand more on how they met and leading up to their first scene.

Side note, PERSONALLY I do not like the term ‘Daddy’, and the use of it distracted me from the scenes. Again, completely personal. Is that something that could/should be added to the TW list? Idk

Overall a great novel and I look forward to watching her writing style grow!
