Foxx Honeywell, here. So, picking up where we left off...and things are decidedly not okay. But, hey...what is fine...is my love life. Which is a win in my book, considering how badly all my former relationships have gone. And really, it's not often you become someone’s boyfriend and have to deal with their strange secret camera obsession for keeping you safe. No red flags there!

It’s just everything else that is pretty bloody horrible. Multiple old enemies, some new ones, a not so mysterious murdery group, and just all around hatred everywhere. You know, on top of me dealing with Harlow while the man works through, and sometimes fails to work through, his brand new issues. I may end up burying a fifth boyfriend—I haven’t decided yet.

Anywho, it probably won’t be fine. But Harlow and I are still breathing! So that counts for something!

This one picks up a little before the end of the previous story with Harlow’s PoV and we get to see what happened with him being kidnapped to an extent. Foxx also finally gets to explain to Harlow what he is. And Harlow is not having a great time with it. He has so much to adjust to. Also they have to keep him alive. Harlow is more worried about Foxx than himself. There’s the usually chaos and pettiness with these lovable guys. We get a lot of spice along with tender moments. They do also finally get to go on their first date! I adore Foxx and he gets his fill of violence in the story. And we get to find out more about who’s been hurting these two in the previous stories. The overarching threat also becomes much more prevalent in this one. I laughed so many times and love these two so much! I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. And we get to see extremely badass Harlow! If you’ve read this far you’ll love this and if you haven’t started the series go read the first one!

Harlow and Foxx are definitely in my top five favorite fictional book couples of all time. These two chaos gremlins are top tier.

The plot is still plotting in this series, and I am here for it. The cliffhanger in book three got even juicier in book four. Backstories galore? Yes, please! Psychotic heartfelt gestures? Keep them coming! Best friends, new friends, old friends, and we've heard your name, now we get to see your fame persons of interest? Thank you!

The cliffhanger...😦😧😯😲🥺

Notable Quotes/Scenes:

“Harlow, if you don’t get up this instant, you won’t be kissing that anytime in the near future!”
++++++++++++++++

“That was a lot of ‘probably’, ‘supposed to’, and ‘should be’, brat.”
++++++++++++++++

Cabin Dock Scene - germaphobes and broken fishing poles
++++++++++++++++

[Oceana to Iggy]

"…WHY WOULD YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES AND KEEP SHOOTING?!”

“I’M SORRY, OKAY!? I’D JUST RATHER NOT SEE MY OWN DEATH HAPPEN!?!”
++++++++++++++++

The man took a deep breath. “Just call his name with purpose.”

Harlow stared. “What…? Is he a f*cking genie or something?”

“No.” Alastair snorted.
++++++++++++++++

[Harlow to Charity]

Foxx glanced at Harlow, and found the man eyeing her. “You…are…a person that is…one of my things.”
++++++++++++++++

“Really?!” Foxx beamed. “Oh, look at you, Mr. Technology! Using your internet! I’m so proud!”

He snorted, rolling his eyes at being praised for such a ridiculous thing. “I’ve been practicing..."
++++++++++++++++

[Foxx about Allistair]

"…I don’t know, he likes cowboys.”

A smile broke out on Santiago’s face, the wolf no doubt hearing them.
++++++++++++++++

“I see pretty things, Harlow!” Foxx practically growled out. “Prepare to carry sh*t!”

He snorted. “I guess as your boyfriend that is in my job description now, huh?”

“Yes!”
++++++++++++++++

[This is only a snippet of the full conversation. The full conversation was hilarious.]

He looked at his small, angry boyfriend, and turned to Daydric, asking, “So…what is this dove thing?”
++++++++++++++++

[Santiago]

"So, Harlow Blackmore, Foxx Honeywell… take my hope and make it soar... "
++++++++++++++++

Foxx gasped! “The Gavin?!” The vampire blinked. “Wait… who’s Gavin?”
++++++++++++++++

“No! No, Gavin, don’t come! Stay wherever the f*ck you are. Just watch your @ss. Stay put… and if you hear anything about this group, tell me.”

“Mmm, I’m gonna come.”

The phone went dead.

“F*CK!” he roared.
++++++++++++++++

The human stared in shock for a moment. “I… Okay… That’s good… How about you two… just… Just go do something that won’t cause problems.”

“Foxx doesn’t know how to do something without causing problems.”

“That’s not true. I can… but I just choose not to.”

Harlow chuckled.
++++++++++++++++

[Harlow standing on business, lol.]

“I say this with my whole non- human heart, have the day you f*cking deserve.”
++++++++++++++++

Ignorance and arrogance were abundant in hospitals.
++++++++++++++++

“Hi! You don’t know me, but I know you, sort of. Anyway, I’m Foxx Honeywell—”

“That grumpy bear?” the man blurted.
++++++++++++++++

He just wasn’t sure if love could describe the obsession he felt. “In a world that I hate, full of people who don’t deserve to keep breathing, you are the one person who I’d sacrifice the world and myself for, regardless of whether it meant you’d live years longer or only a few seconds.”

Despite not saying those three words back, Foxx’s smile widened. Which could only mean that what he had said had been enough for now.
++++++++++++++++

[Harlow about Wes]

Ah… the human was offended for him. Did that mean he had to collect him too? He supposed he should.
++++++++++++++++

“Love you,” Foxx beamed.

“Mine,” Harlow growled, nipping at his lip again, before bouncing him on his back with a chuckle.

This book is full of danger, new(ish) characters, and plenty of adorable bickering. This story picked up right where the previous books left off, which as you might know left off on a cliffhanger. When this story starts we continue right where the last book ended, we get more information and details about what happened to Harlow when he got kidnapped, and what a dhampir is.

This addition was my favorite as far as plot progression and relationship development goes, there was so much that happened in this story that just added so much more to the overall series. We got to see Harlow and Foxx actually admit they are in a relationship, along with seeing different dynamics from both of these men. Usually Foxx is the bubbly, happy character and Harlow is the grumpy one, but in this story, both of these men are grumpy. Which is completely understandable seeing as Foxx has to not only try to hide Harlow from the Vampire Council, but he also has to try to teach Harlow how to control his new abilities.

I found the aspect of a vampire and a werewolf disease really interesting, I think Shelby did an excellent job creating that aspect, and I thought it made this story in particular more unique. One of the aspects I love most about this series is Harlow and Foxx's bickering, it's always humorous to me to read about their bickering, and there was plenty of that going on throughout this story. Some of the side characters that were only mentioned previously made a bigger appearance in this book. Those being Doc, Santiago, Tony, Charity, and Daydric. I hope they all get their own stories, I would absolutely love that!

Please keep in mind that you cannot read this book without reading the previous books first, if you read this without reading those you will be confused and lost within the mayhem that is Foxx and Harlow. Something that you can come to expect with Shelby is how she loves to end her books with cliffhangers, and this cliffhanger is so much worse than the previous one. This cliffhanger made me want to scream because I want to know what happens! Lol. Alas, I must wait for the next book to find out what's going to happen next.

All in all, a fantastic book! The pacing in this book was a bit slower than the others, but it didn't detract from the overall story.

a fabulous book. It’s everything I’d hoped for and more.

Rating: 5🌈

Thirst Quenched (The Unwilling Adventures of Harlow & Foxx Book 4) by Shelby Rhodes is a fabulous book. It’s everything I’d hoped for and more.

For the uninitiated, stop. Read all the trigger warnings, seriously, have you read this author? Then proceed to go to the beginning of the series and start reading there.

For the rest of us, this is outstanding on so many levels. It moves the complex relationship between Foxx and Harlow forward even as they grapple with the challenges that Harlow’s new condition presents to them personally as well as what it means for them in the role they play as partners within the organization. That last being a very important part of this plot.

Rhodes brings in new facets to this story and series with the change to Harlow. It’s a great twist because it’s bringing a deeper dive into his background, the energy of his relationship with Foxx enters a new dynamic, and a hints of a even wider dimension arc wise is threaded into the narrative by two of the most intriguing characters.

Honestly, there’s multiple scenes I enjoyed here that I had to read through several times before I could convince myself to continue. And others that I was sure held clues to future stories that I just didn’t want to move past.

Iggy as “bluebird “? Yes! more please! I’ll say no more.

And then there’s that cliffhanger. A real heartstopper! So now we wait for False Morality to hit next March. I can’t wait! I’ll definitely be rereading this several times in anticipation and just because it’s outstanding and I might have missed something.

Kudos to Shelby Rhodes on writing Thirst Quenched (The Unwilling Adventures of Harlow & Foxx Book 4)! Highly recommended!

Love the covers. This might be my favorite so far.

Another amazing book in the series!

Okay, I’m fairly sure at this point that I have some kind of Stockholm syndrome when it comes to Shelby’s books. I hate cliffhangers, like, I need everyone to be happy and there to be zero questions left. And yet… I voluntarily, again and again, subject myself to the sweet torture of Shelby’s cliffhangers! That being said, Foxx and Harlow are safe and whole and… I mean happy with each other not happy with how things are in general. But for mid-series cliffhangers with Shelby I feel that is like a gift lol. Honestly, I actually feel like this isn’t too bad of one if you’re just focussing on Foxx and Harlow, which is totally what I’m going to do haha. This was a really good book as far as overall series plot progression. It’s not that the other books aren’t, but in this book I thought there was a lot of character and relationship progression that felt big. There’s been lots of smaller movement forwards in the books previously and with a lot of things that take work there’s a lot of work with seeming smaller movement and then all that work comes to a head with a big leap forward (if that makes sense). So it was really satisfying on that front. There’s lots going on in general too with revelations, and Vampire Councils and psychotic idiots who can’t just let people exist without trying to hurt them. I love that for longer books as sometimes with longer books you risk there being a dragging feeling at points, but with so much going on you feel like it’s a great pace throughout. It’s got that great balance of having enough happening where it never feels draggy but also not so much that you feel overwhelmed with how much is going on at once. It’s right in the sweet spot. I’m looking forward to the next book and am only slightly cursing the existence of cliffhangers because Foxx and Harlow are together and lovely and I’m going to trust in Shelby that everyone else is too.

This is the 4th book in the series and the previous books must be read to better understand the mayhem when it comes to these two psychotic MCs, well one is a psychotic little ray of sunshine and the other is just psychotic.
Harlow and Foxx were still dealing with their new emotions and the change of their relationship status. Harlow, Mr. No Feelings, definitely had a lot of feelings when it concerned Foxx, especially possessiveness. He was like the seagulls from Finding Nemo "Mine...Mine...Mine" 😂. And funny enough, Foxx was the more grumpy one in this book. But completely understandable, Foxx was dealing with a lot, trying to find a way to keep Harlow safe from the Vampire Counsel and therapy sessions (which I think he hated more, lol). Also, trying to teach Mr. stubborn, can't ask for help Harlow on how to deal with his new powers. While Harlow was trying to be sweet in his own way and stay in Foxx's good graces (definitely a hit and a miss, mostly misses 😂).
Then there was Harlow's blast from the past who was trying to make Harlow's life as troublesome as possible and targeting the paranormals. Foxx and Harlow had their hands full trying to help the victimized paranormals and find a quick solution before more lives were lost.
So much action, suspense, snarky banter (the best ❤️), humor, emotions, new intriguing characters (yes, you Gavin), and steam. But beware, the cliffhanger will leave you screaming.

I love this series and finished book 4 in less than 24 hours. So much happened in this one, my review is mostly thoughts and outbursts I had while reading.

My poor heart, Foxx is so scared for Harlow.

Sweetly unhinged is my new favorite type of couple.

I love that Foxx and Harlow are finally ‘dating’. 🥰

Harlow is even more possessive now - “Cute and mine, he thought. All mine.”

Tony needs his own book; and Alastair and Daydric and Wes and Doc and Santiago; okay I want everyone to have their own books. 📚

So much wonderful banter and so many amazing friends (even though Harlow doesn’t have friends)

Harlow (the psychopath with no feelings) is the most romantic boyfriend ever! 🖤❤️🖤

“In a world that I hate, full of people who don’t deserve to keep breathing, you are the one person who I’d sacrifice the world and myself for, regardless of whether it meant you’d live years longer or only a few seconds.”

(Blue Bird💙) and Santiago!?!

I can’t wait to meet Gavin. Foxx and Gavin are going to cause so much trouble 😈

“Foxx doesn’t know how to do something without causing problems.”
“That’s not true. I can…but I choose not to.”

Wow...so good...Crazy long but oh so worth it. You don't even realize it because you are so wrapped up in Foxx and Harlow's shenanigans. Book 4 was such a fun read and definitely emotional ride. Foxx is still crazy adorable and Harlow is still a psycho with no feelings but for his "brat". So much is going on...Harlow's new self...crazy and hilarious banter...HOT AF sexy times...new and interesting characters...the guys sharing inner revelations...extreme terrorists causing mass destruction...blood, gore and mayhem...possible new love connections and without a doubt one of the best cliffhangers so far in this series. I'm not even close to upset. I am patiently waiting to see what's coming next with Foxx and Harlow...I KNOW it's gonna be sooooooooo good.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

If you've been following the series, you're definitely gonna want to read "Thirst Quenched." Harlow finds out that he was never entirely human to begin with, and tries to cope with his new found abilities with Foxx's help. Thankfully with the assistance of a couple of people, who Harlow would have never thought of as friends in the first place, he is able to resume work as seamlessly as possible. However, with the Vampire Counsel coming after him and Foxx, and a madman infecting paranormals to become violent, things aren't as seamless as they would like. Hopefully, Foxx and Harlow will be able to find a way to help the paranormals and get the counsel off their backs. You'll just have to read it in order to find out. This book is a must read, and you're gonna be begging Shelby Rhodes to complete the next one.

Will there be friends of the couple who don't make it through this twisted and hate filled plan to end all paranormals??? Will Iggy finally find his own stud of a man??? Love Harlow and Foxx

Harlow is having a rough time.
Some home truths have come to roost about his past, and he's having to learn how to navigate using his newfound powers.
Thankfully, he's got his sweet, psychotic, little ray of sunshine, Foxx right by his side.
I love how protective and possessive these two have become with one another.
There's also plenty of action and danger for them in the form of the council trying to hinder them and other paranormal shenanigans to deal with.
I absolutely loved that this was a meatier book, and I can't wait for the next adventure.

Ohhh my goodness! Harlow and Foxx continue to entertain with their witty banter and sadistic shenanigans. There is a lot going on in this story. We see old friends, meet new friends, hear backgrounds on our favorite MMCs and get left with another cliffhanger that has my heart pounding. Shelby continues to leave readers begging for more. Thank you for the well written and highly entertaining addition.

There are many ships that need to sail🥲

Aside from the mechanics, which by now I’ve accepted and decided to move on from, this was one of my favs so far. And the cliffhanger hurt my soul, so I will be desperately waiting for the next book.

4/5. Editing love needed, as it always is, but the ships are so good and Harlow and Foxx continue to be the cutest of the cute and the next book needs to hurry up for my sanity.

Great addition to the series!

I loved Thirst Quenched by Shelby Rhodes. It's the fourth book in The Unwilling Adventures of Harlow & Foxx series. This is the longest book in the series so far and so much happens and then we are left on a major cliffhanger, which isn't a surprise, and luckily I have an ARC copy of the next book so I can immediately find out what happens next.

I read this book using the Kindle unlimited app.

I tried so, so hard to finish this. But it's been sitting at about 16% since November? December? I really like the main characters but this is an example of something I just want to end. I'm not here for a million stories, no matter how much I like the main characters. The surrounding violence and such just doesn't compel me to continue. Maybe I'll try to check back in for the final book in the series where I can get the wrap-up I dream of.

This is the installment I have been reading for! The gorgeous, committed relationship and all its glorious protective and possessive vibes! I loved Harlow being romantic with a completely possessive flare. This a longer read which I appreciated because we get enough of everything. The overarching plot drama, the developing couple and all the beloved sidekicks.

Another Great Addition to Series

I've become invested in the MCs. I wasn't ready for the book to end and looking forward to the next book in the series. I hope Iggy and Santiago get their own story. Also, I would love to learn more about Wes, the Doc, and a few more supporting characters.

More Harlow & Foxx Mayhem

Harlow has to learn how to be a dhampire and how to control his strength. An old enemy of Harlow poisons other paranormals to try to get humans on his side against paras. Harlow and Foxx find a way to get Doc samples of blood to get a counteragent.

I loved the book and even though I knew it ended on a cliffhanger, I still went NOOOOO out loud at the end. Ugh I can’t wait first the next one!!

We pick up where the last book left off.
Harlowe has been turned into a dhampir and is adjusting to it with the help (?) of Foxx.
Maverick is back, this time infecting vamps and werewolves and Foxx and Harlowe were at the forefront of fighting them.
A long book. Did it need to be as long? Probably not.
I do wonder why though the author keeps using ' the dhampir' instead of Harlowes name.

Wow!

The series just keeps getting more intricate, full of surprises. With the trademark humour and heat between Foxx and Harlow; great secondary characters like Charity, Tony, Iggy and the new menace that they have to face, it's another great addition. But the ending- gah! Feverishly waiting for the next book!!!

🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Why? I ask myself this every time I finish a book in this series... grrr

Let me just say, March 2025 is too far off, IMHO! Waiting is not my forte... but, wait I shall. 😭

There are several loose ends that need to be tied up immediately and I say that with my fingers crossed! The ending has me worried... did I mention that waiting is NOT my forte? UGH!!! 🤬

This is continuing story Harlow & Foxx and has to be read from the very beginning to understand what is going on. Harlow tries to figure out how to control being a dhampir. Every time Harlow goes into blood burn he's in a fog and doesn't know what he's doing and the only person that can get him out of it is Foxx. Someone was out to get Harlow and everyone that he cares about but they stunned it for a little bit

I love this book. Harlow and Foxx face old and new enemies. There is a murderous group causing trouble. It doesn't help that Harlow is learning how to deal with his new issues. Will they be able to survive the obstacles and enemies they face? Or will Foxx bury another boyfriend?
