Floss is an incredible character who has trouble standing since her legs are weak but she has many other strengths. This book (and the other two as well) teach children about the strengths and uniqueness of those who are different.
It teaches them empathy and kindness and for the kiddos who are different like the characters in these wonderful books, it teaches them it's a okay to be different and that they have many unique and important strengths that make the world a more wonderful place!
I love the incredible rhyming and the gorgeous illustrations throughout as well! I can't recommend reading this book to your kids enough!
I love this book so much! I can relate to Flossy! I share her lack of grace! Not only do I love the message of how we all have unique special qualities but I also adore the face that Flossy finds a way to work with what she has and succeed in what she wants to be able to do! Love the gorgeous and vibrant illustrations and the story is so beautifully written too!

There is kindness spread all through out the story that will capture the hearts of all children. Definitely a must read for anyone with children and I can't wait to read the next book by Joanne!
Floss The Wobbly Flamingo is a heartwarming book about a Flamingo with weak legs. An innate optimist, Floss is flamboyantly delighted with herself, her gorgeous wings and beak, and kind to others, too. But her esteem takes a dive when her wobbly legs give her trouble catching enough fish to eat. Suddenly Floss doesn’t feel so good about herself. A Flamingo with weak legs? Whoever heard of such a thing! Floss feels like a lesser flamingo because of her difference.
Lovingly her friends gather around Floss and make her a net to catch fish with. They all praise her special, unique qualities until Floss once again glows with natural Flamingo-flamboyant pride.
Then the other Flamingos share that they have challenges, too!” Everyone, it seems, is unique. They decide to come together and support each other, helping one another contend with challenges and pursue their dreams, while still appreciating each other for the unique flamingos they are.
This book is radiant with the spirit of unconditional love and the healing power of friendship. It’s written lovingly by Joanna Moore and illustrated by Emily Clarke, who captures the flaming southern sunset colors and tropical feel of flamingo territory.

I love flamingos and was delighted that I received a copy along with Catalog of Diverse Kids books which it's featured in. Love the simple illustrations that really bring Floss to life. Floss may have a disadvantage with his wobble, but makes up for it with other unique strengths. Floss stays positive and upbeat despite his minor weakness, until one day when he starts feeling down. Luckily he has friends who come to the rescue to pick him back up and come together to help Floss. In return, he gives back as well. A perfect story for all children, especially when they are feeling down. Adults can benefit from the story as well. Highly recommend to add to your collection!

Floss is an endearing character who sparkles in her own special way. Floss starts to feel down when she can’t do things the same way the other flamingos can. But Floss feels strong and sensational again once she is given the support she needs to overcome her struggles.
I love the heartfelt ending, in which we see the flamingo friends encouraging each other to explore their unique strengths and abilities.

My favorite thing about this book is that it starts with Floss already aware of her difference, but still living her vibrant, fabulous life. Floss struggles with balance. That becomes a problem sometimes, like when it’s time to go fishing, and it affects her self-esteem. But her friends rally around her and create a new technique to help their beloved friend gain some independence. This beautifully illustrated book carries important themes of celebrating differences, self-esteem, kindness, and community. Kids will certainly love Floss.
