In the gripping second installment of the Death Dweller MC’s Legacy Series, "Restless," CJ Caldwell finds himself facing more challenges and heartbreak than ever before. Still grappling with a devastating family tragedy, CJ is now also dealing with the fractured relationship between him and his once-best friend, Harley. Her erratic behavior has not only destroyed their friendship, but it also threatens to unravel other important relationships in CJ's life.
As CJ's parents struggle with their own personal issues, the weight of responsibility falls heavily on CJ's young shoulders. He must step up and take care of his siblings while navigating the complex dynamics of a broken family. But little does he know, danger lurks in the shadows, ready to pounce when he least expects it.
I am slowly but surely learning to manage my time more effectively and getting back to writing and connecting with everyone. I'm not completely there yet, but it is slowly coming together. Misled and Misappropriate have been updated with additional chapters and POVs from a couple more characters. Both books have about 30,000 more words and new covers. I have new covers for all the books in the series. Recently Misled placed first in the Mystery, Suspense, and Thriller category on Chick Lit Cafe. The paperback will also be included in an upcoming Reveal Book Box. While working on Reckless, I am also updating the text in the original series. About Reckless - It will be filled with death and destruction, as usual. However, I will admit to being slightly shocked myself at some of the turn of events taking place. I have restarted my newsletter with a new name, KatChats. Until the end of the year, I plan to send it out weekly because of all the news I have to share. After that, I will switch to monthly. I also have a new website. It should be online in a couple of days once the domain transfer completes. I also have a website dedicated to the Death Dwellers. It is still in its early stages, but it is live: https://deathdwellersmc.com. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please send them my way.
Kathryn C. Kelly is a New Orleans native who has called southeast Texas home since 2005. She had intended to travel the world but always return to her beloved New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina had other plans. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters and the daughter of one gorgeous mother whose footsteps she followed in by becoming a writer. Kathryn is the former owner and editor of Inside Rose Rich Magazine. She and her mother have been published by Jove Books as Christine Holden. The books have long been out of print but they got the rights back to the five novels and have plans to re-release them soon. Kathryn is a cancer survivor. In 2010, she felt a small lump in her breast. In 2015, at the urging of her mother, she went in for her bi-yearly mammogram and was diagnosed with Stage 2b/3a HER2 positive breast cancer. On November 30, 2016, she rang the bell. During her treatment, she was also diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome. In 2013, Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell introduced himself to Kat in the most cliché way ever. He came to her in a dream. After the inauspicious meeting, he planted himself in her mind and the motherf...the gentleman hasn't left yet. In what was only supposed to be one book about the fictitious Death Dwellers MC, Outlaw has become a source of amusement, a well of frustration, and a bone of contention between Kat and one of her daughters. She is hard at work on Reckless, the book that will bridge the OGs with a new generation of Death Dwellers. Her work has been included in several anthologies and she is looking forward to other upcoming single title releases, including Savage Suit from the Cocky Hero Club World created by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. She is a former RWA member. She also served as Vice President for the SOLA chapter of RWA. She is a New Orleans Saints fan, but roots for the Texans, the Rockets, and the Coogs (U of H) as long as they aren't playing any Louisiana teams. She loves champagne and sparkling wine. One day, she will try Snoop's brand. She still loves Chivas Regal but had a chance to taste Sassenach Scotch. A #lifegoal is to one day buy herself an entire bottle and keep it all for herself. In her head, she is a biker babe with a Harley in her garage, waiting for her to hit the road. In reality, she has yet to hop on a bike and ride. She loves Cards Against Humanity, has very strong opinions that she keeps to herself, has to take her time to talk in public so nothing untoward pops out, and always strives to see the best in people and in life.
I don’t even know where to begin for a review that does justice to all that is ……. The Death Dwellers. The author deserves the biggest trophy and award for creating this MC world. The characters are unlike anything ever written, and continues on with the next generation.
Many will argue with me, but I am Ms. Kelly’s biggest fan 😍
I signed up to read this book as an ARC through book siren and give my honest opinion, so here goes. Even though I am still not a fan of how the writing is set up with the acts, prologues, and jumping time frames, I am getting used to it. What rubs me the wrong way is how this black author writes about black characters. I like reading stories by black authors because they usually write about strong black characters, which we rarely see in romance books, which allows black readers to connect with the characters more. But with this author, it seems like she has something against black people even though she is black herself. Out of all the few black characters in this series, only two, Lolly and Mort, have redeeming qualities. The others (Bailey, Harley, Nardo, and Jayleena) are all just horrible and just annoy me every time they appear. Which ticks me off because they started off, ok.... Hopefully, in her next book, they will become likable characters again. As far as the story, while still being interesting, it is dragging out. As things continue to crumble and lies start to be revealed, it still seems like the story isn't progressing. You have Outlaw constantly talking about what he is going to do and then his wife talking him down so nothing is done, which gives room for more treachery to occur instead of handling the issues before they worsen. I feel like this is being done to drag the story out to get more books in before actually giving the ending. Despite the annoyances in this book, I will read the next one because I am vested and want to see how everything ends. I just hope there is a conclusion in the next book because there is no reason to drag it out any further.
RESTLESS is the second instalment in Kathryn C Kelly’s contemporary, adult DEATH DWELLERS MC : THE LEGACY GENERATION dark, erotic, series focusing on the multi-generational membership in the Death Dwellers MC-a spinoff from the Death Dwellers MC. Most of the original couples and characters from the Death Dwellers MC series play significant role in the current timelines. I recommend reading the original series as well as RECKLESS book one of The Legacy Generation.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence and language, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from several omniscient third person perspectives using present day, memories from the past , divided into Acts and Interludes RESTLESS follows several intersecting paths focusing on the dark and acrimonious relationships between family, friendships and the Death Dwellers MC. Although several of the characters are under sixteen years old, the entirety of the premise is intended for mature readers. While CJ Caldwell is torn between friendships and family, his story line bleeds and blends into the overarching premise, as the originals, the members, and the legacy fight for control at the top.
Secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, murder and abuse, obsession and madness are but a few of the significant conceptualizations throughout the story, in the end, deception and dishonesty are but the tip of the proverbial iceberg as club president Christopher ‘Outlaw’ Caldwell struggles to regain control. The detailed and complex premise is gritty, dark, raw. dramatic and tragic; the characters are numerous, flawed, destructive-there is nothing likeable about the majority of the characters; there is no romance to be found. RESTLESS ends on a bit of a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
Heed the trigger warnings-they are graphic and numerous.
THESE CHILDREN ARE STRESSING ME OUT! AND YES I INCLUDE JOHN BOY IN WITH THE "CHILDREN" AND BAILEY TOO! Okay i do love the drama, but I still want to shake some sense in some of these characters. I saw some other reviews with complaints about how many characters were in the book, the drama, the length, and about the backstories. I don't agree with those complaints. I hate when a book feels "rushed" so appreciate the storytelling. It's the same characters as the previous ones (maybe less) so i didn't understand that complaint either. I think the drama is spot on, i mean there's always been a ton of drama in these stories with the club members and their love lives so now that there children are older, you would expect teen drama plus family drama plus club drama. I have always adored CJ, now even more. I hope he doesn’t go through a crazy phase like some of these kids. He really held everyone and everything together as best he could. I was so disappointed in Harley and Bailey, and so sad for Mortician. BUT happy with how things were looking by the end of the book. AND OH let's talk about Johnnie.... grrr he drives me insane!!! He's gonna end up with a pew pew in the brain. NOW, when is the next one coming out? 😂
Another awesome continuation of the Dweller series.
I loved this latest continuation to the Death Dwellers saga. No other author can make you love, or hate, a character quite like Kathryn C. Kelly.
This book had much of the same Dweller drama but some things that I could've done without. I'm not a fan of the dissension within the club or the disloyalty shown to my favorite characters. Outlaw, Megan, C.J. and Mortician are my absolute favorites. I just wanted to smack everyone who done them wrong. Okay so I kept hoping that Christopher would go back to being Outlaw for a hot minute and do something about Johnny. For once it wasn't Kendall causing trouble. I loved every page of the drama tho especially when Meggie put a beat down on Johnnie's arse.
I think it's obvious that I love this series. I adore these characters and their crazy messed up family. I love reading all about them and following along with their wild journey. Kathryn C Kelly really knows how to bring her characters to life in my imagination. I will be counting down the days until the next book to see how everything turns out for my favorite characters.
I really wanted to liked this book but, however, I couldn't at the end. Although the story has some twist and turns, the same drama, treachery, and betrayal is still happening with the adults as it did in previous books and now is dripping into the kids, the next generation. Their doesn't seem to be much growth or progress just the adults are older! And now the kids have a point of view. It sad to see in every book from the dwellers mc and now, Maggie is still a target for family to gang up on, Jonnie to constantly attack, the women to make comments on and the mc Brothers to bad mouth! Where's the loyalty, growth, Change that happens with time? Maggie in every book is constantly a target in some form yet, holds Christopher (law) back from handing out justice or repercussions. Where's the backbone? And saying enough is enough. She's an amazing character at first now it's just very sad how she been reduced to a person with No self-confidence, support, respect from people she's been there for and now a marty who let's every one push her buttons, and Never tells her husband the truth on what's really happening and continuously Mulipulated by others. The story sadly has become depressing when nothing changes and characters either don't show growth or get worse following same plots.

Woohoo I loved this book. I absolutely love Megan and Outlaw’s story ❤️❤️❤️ He is totally devoted to her. CJ has grown to be a fine man, he has his mother’s level head but he wouldn’t hesitate to deal when he had to, much like his father. It was such an enjoyable read, I loved catching up with all the characters, I become so invested in this series I’m devastated by the time I reach the end because I want more. Can’t wait for the next book. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎
This book was absolutely fantastic and will definitely have you hooked from the beginning until the end! I absolutely love Outlaw and Megs relationship and her dealing with alot so soon after having another baby under all the stress that is going on with the club and now her daughter and sin but will they ever get things under control or will someone close to the club and Outlaw try to betray the club? Jon boy in this book made me want to grab outlaws gun and shoot him. Kathryn did a fantastic job with this book.
restless: the legacy continues (death dwellers MC legacy generation book 2)
I love, love this author’s death dwellers Mc series. I recommend that you read the other death dwellers books before reading this novel. I was inspired and interested in reading about Outlaw and Megan other children. CJ is a teenager with complex and confusing relationships with Harley. Hopefully the next book will be get CJ and Harley back to friends.
5 stars isn’t enough for any book in this series. I feel so sad when I turn that last page, I’m never ready to finish. Outlaw is struggling between being outlaw and Christopher, Meggie is suffering health wise following baby Jo’s traumatic emergence in to the world. CJ is being the biggest adult among them, Rebels demon has left her and entered her cousin, mad stuff happening between partners and families and Johnny gets more and more punchable. I NEED MORE!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love the Death Dwellers, the OG series is one of my favourites and their kids series doesn’t disappoint. I have always enjoyed CJ and Restless telling the collective next generation’s stories is just…… everything. From the first word this book has reeled me in, to the point that I sat up all night reading it, I can’t wait for the next book to find out what happens. This book is worth so much more than 5 stars 🌟.
The story continues in Restless, the second book in the Death Dwellers MC—the Legacy Continues. Again, the main focus is CJ with a host of other characters getting a POV. I must say, CJ would make a good president when he comes of age. He has a good head on his shoulders and is extremely mature for only sixteen. He is the one his mother leans on during troubled times, and the one his father trusts, and treats not as a child, but as a teenager.
So happy this series was continued with the old and new generation together. While Christopher and Megan are such great characters the introduction of a nearly grown C.J. and Rebel are great. There is such a variety of funny, interesting, devoted, and twisted characterizations in this story and an interesting and at times intense storyline its hard to put down!
Sadly this was only a 3 star read for me. Nothing was accomplished in the super long book. I was confused on who was who. And the weird thing is I read all the books in this authors universe. So many characters. Not knowing who was speaking. The conflict from book one was addressed but not satisfied. I will read the next.
This book 2 in the Death Dwellers MC Legacy series and continues from Reckless book 1. The Death Dwellers second generation takes us on another intense journey with a story full if emotions and most importantly a story about family and loyalty. It answers the questions we were left hanging with from book 1 and gives its readers just what we wanted.
Restless Death Dwellers MC Legacy Generation Book 2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another fab book by Kathryn C Kelly .I love the characters in this series of books, I love how the characters interact & all their moments together make me laugh or melt my heart.I definitely recommend this series of books to you all ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Restless is a continuation of the Death Dwellers legacy where CJ and Harley's story comes alive. It is an emotional rollercoaster where family and loyalty are tested. It is a descriptive well written story that had me connecting with the characters and cheering them on to happiness. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
A really wonderful story. I really loved the characters, The story is really amazing, You can't help but be pulled in. The more I read f the series, I can't wait to start the first series, A page turner that I couldn't put down. Can't wait for more, I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this book! I just kinda disliked the interlude stories. I personally don’t think it fit with the book. Don’t get me wrong but i still love the book! I can’t wait for the next book!
When is the next book!! I have laughed, I have cried! I have enjoyed this book so much that I had to read it twice. The twist and turns and the back stories. BRAVO!!
I didn't want it to end even though I needed to know what was going to happen next. Molly broke my heart, that poor girl. Bash is such a coward. Ryan needs a beat down. I need the next book.
Wow!! The emotions this book raises are incredible. The story line was great and the characters had multiple layers. I truly enjoyed every single word.
