Della enjoys mysteries that won't keep her up at night, have a hint of romance, and a satisfactory ending. Preferably in a series.
In November of 2022 Della undertook the National Novel Writing challenge to complete a first draft and the Village of Edgemont series began. A portion of sale proceeds will be donated to NaNoWriMo in appreciation.
Not a good book - the writing was somewhat stilted, with poor editing and tenses jumping about. I also didn't like the main character, who showed a remarkable lack of empathy until very close to the end of the book. I'm not sure that a normal school employee - even on the admin side, rather than a teacher - would leave a thirteen-year old girl in the car park alone in winter, ignoring the fact that said girl looked distressed and asked for a lift, because they thought it was "inconvenient". Especially when they'd just learned that another pupil at the same school had been murdered. Plus, I can't believe that the police would believe it when a man with a disguised voice rings to say that a missing girl is staying with his daughter.
