The Matchmakers' Book Club series are standalone romances with interconnecting characters. Each novel focuses on one couple (no cliffhangers!) and can be read in any order, but for maximum enjoyment it is recommended they are read starting with book one.

About the author

Nicole took the long way to deciding on becoming a writer. As young as six, Nicole wrote poems and started drafts of novels.  After over fifteen years as an attorney she decided to give writing an actual try and finish one of her many stories.

Avid reader, lover of coffee and chocolate, and animals. If she isn’t writing, she is driving to the field, watching a game or curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee.  She lives in the Northeast with her husband and their four children.

He is a single dad and a police officer, and meets Eva when his daughter drops a tray of cookies at a party.
Some time later she moves to a rental cabin at the beach in his town and he can't help himself wanting her.
They try being discreet and having a fling, but they don't know the matchmakers in town will help them have more time alone without them knowing.
Eva and Latchan have great chemistry and he is a cinnamonroll with a dirty mouth.

This is an absolute heart grabber of a story. Not only does it have a swoon-worthy hero with a heart of gold, it also has a wonderful heroine with boss-lady vibes and a warm generous heart. Add in an adorable, sweet-as-sugar little girl and you have a heart melting book that utterly captivates. Lachlan is a protective, doting single dad of young Lilah. He chose a small town in which to raise his daughter and willingly took a step back on his career path as a police officer in order to ensure her safety from her troubled mother. Lachlan devotes all of his time to his daughter and his job, with no time for dating or a personal life of his own. It has been a long five years since he felt a spark of attraction for any woman, but that changes the night of a holiday party when he observes Eva, the sister of his colleague, help his young daughter and show her some kindness. He is pleased to note Eva’s awareness of him too. Discovering she is only visiting in town to visit with family was disappointing.

A month later, Lachlan and Lilah meet Eva again at the local coffee shop and discover she has moved to town so that she can be closer to her brother and his family while working remotely for a PR firm. It is obvious to both Lachlan and Eva that there is still hot chemistry between them, but a bad breakup with her ex-fiancé has her sworn of relationships. Lachlan’s own relationship past has him wary of dating or seeing anyone. He has little Lilah’s heart to consider too. Fate and some sneaky matchmakers keep nudging Eva and Lochlan together. Their chemistry can’t be denied and soon they both agree to a very discreet, no getting feelings, no commitments relationship. That proves to be futile after they become much more intimate, share personal information and connect on a soul deep level. Can they let go of the past hurts, fears and betrayals in order to reach toward love and each other?

Little Lilah often steals the show, but Lachlan and Eva’s steadily blooming relationship makes for a very enjoyable read. Eva has moved to town after getting a promotion at work, to be close to her brother and his family. A chance meeting with Lachlan on a prior visit may have left lingering attraction in her mind. His daughter Lilah is sweet and cute. Lachlan is a single dad who works at the police department with Eva's brother Grant.
Lachlan has a bit of a mysterious past. The attraction grows quickly but we are still treated to a slow burn. The atpry gives us mystery in the form of Lilah's mother and suspense late in the book. Good friends like Jodie and the new friends Eva mets in town including her sister in law Maggie add depth to the srory. We also get action from Eva's ex, the jerk, and her job and boss. The match making club is fun but really doesn't play a big part in my opinion. This book is very detailed but is nicely written. I will still look for the older books and any new ones that come along in the match making series. This is my first in the series and by the author. There is a lot to admire in this story, the way both Lachlan and Eva treat Lilah. The way Grant watches out for his sister. Eva's parents interactions and feelings. The connection if the towns people. Lachlan's job. It all adds dimension and background.

This charming story is heartwarming and had me all caught up in Eva and Lachlan's drama. She is coming off of a disastrous relationship and has decided that a relationship is not something she wants right now especially after the encounter with her ex, but fate has something else in store when she moves to be close to her brother. When she and Lachlan first meet sparks ignite between them. He is a single dad who doesn't have time for dating. Will their time spent together have them changing their minds about their feelings for each other and will it lead them along the road to a happily ever after.

This is my 1st book from this series and I have enjoyed reading it. I felt a connection to the characters and believed in Eva and Lachlan's connection and chemistry. I enjoyed seeing how well Eva slotted into Lachlan and Lilah's life and how well they understood each other and loved one another. It wasn't smooth sailing for them but the strength of their connection and commitment to one another saw them through. The story is good, the characters are relatable and I thought the story flowed well, I could have happily continued reading about them.

This is a delightful story of two broken hearts coming together and learning to rely on each other. This story is cute, with wonderful characters and fabulous chemistry the popped off the pages. I really enjoyed the story line that was mostly lighthearted. This is definitely a feel good book and was such a joy to read.
