Richard Phillips has a background in education, psychology and design. Until 1998 he was a Reader in the School of Education at the University of Nottingham. He has also worked at the Department of Psychology, University College London, and at The Royal College of Art, London. He continues to maintain close links with the Shell Centre for Mathematical Education at Nottingham.
