A workman-like collection of short facts about the war organized by date. Each chapter focuses on one year of the war. Each fact or story is no more than a paragraph long, so the book is a very easy and quick read. At the end, you feel like you learned a lot, but you can't put your finger on what, exactly, it was you learned.
