Rate this book

Meet the Fitzgeralds, one of the richest families in the state of North Carolina. Owners of the wildly successful Fitzgerald's line of restaurants, they are a picture-perfect family and pillars of the community of Concord-until the morning the owner, Trent, is found dead in the middle of the highly secure Fitzgerald's, Inc. parking lot. There are no witnesses and no suspects. Trent seemingly had no enemies, leaving the police baffled. The only person who appears on the police's radar is Trent's assistant, Lucas Caine-the person who found Trent and the last person to see Trent alive. When Lucas finds himself in the cross-hairs as a potential suspect, he launches his own investigation using his intimate knowledge of the Fitzgerald family to try to clear his name. He finds a dark side to this family no one knew about, and what he finds could lead to his death.

The Myrtle Beach Mysteries are much better. The editor owes the author a refund-so many errors.

While it was cool to read a book set in the town I live in, I just couldn’t get past the lack of editing. Almost every page had a spelling error, misused apostrophe, missing or extra word, incorrect grammar / punctuation, etc. Even simple details like a character’s name or age were not consistent in the book. In the age of spell check and Grammarly, I honestly would love to know how this book got published without editing.

Being from the town this book in centered in I loved going along for the journey! This is a crime novel meets romance! I could not put it down until I was finished!

I was surprised to find editing errors I hadn’t seen any in his books before. The name Trent who was murdered was used when they should have used his Fathers name Quinn

As a Concord resident, it was fun to see so many places I frequent in a book. I didn't expect the ending. I was severely disappointed in all of the editing and grammatical errors. Using Trent when referring to Quinn, "piece of mind" instead of peace, discrete instead of discreet, Tuesday's instead of Tuesdays, and the biggest and most frequent one of them all: the Mahoney's instead of the Mahoneys.

I loved following the characters around my stomping ground and knowing exactly where they were. It was nice reading about a place and knowing that the author had actual knowledge of that place. 👌 The story itself was enjoyable. It's not the usual type of book I reach for, but I did enjoy it. The twists towards the end made it fun to read. The explanations in the epilogue AFTER you think you figured it all out though. 😂 That made it even more fun.

amazing

I didn’t like the first book but this one was amazing. It took a chapter or two to get interesting and then I just got sucked into it. I will not spoil the book in my review but just gonna say that the ending was immaculate! Absolutely amazing. If you read this then you HAVE to read the epilogue at the end and right after that!

I enjoyed reading a book from my hometown. It was cool picturing the places in the book, I would have given it a 4 star, but the spelling and grammar errors bugged me.

I liked that this was based where I live, but this was just not a good book. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the twist at the end was the best part.

This book had appeal not only because of the locale but also because the author is slated to participate in a local book festival. The plot, in and of itself, was entertaining. The editing, however, was terrible...numerous spelling/grammar errors and inconsistencies.

Good Read

Although I am not a big fan of mysteries I enjoyed this book. Even more after reading it the second time.
