This is an excellent book for both managers and employees who wish to learn about "employee engagement". Simply put, this is about commitment to the job and to the work. It discusses engagement and provides advice and answers on improving engagement to both the manager and employee.

Decent take on how to create an engaged organization

This book takes a deep dive into creating an engaged organization. However, in some places it is overly repetitive and at times impractical.
