A man of power.A man of professionalism. Typhon is deadly and dangerous—a man to be feared. As commander of Unit 23, the most secretive unit in SIS, discretion and discipline are paramount to my line of work. With my crew teaming up with M16 agents, I'm forced to come face-to-face with a negligent and careless agent from my past. I do not do unprofessional and sloppy work—not when lives are at stake.
When I encounter the most captivating woman I've ever met, there's nothing stopping me from sweeping her off of her feet, like a typhoon out of nowhere. Eliza Fox is brilliant and funny, keeping me laughing and on my toes. She's everything I never knew I wanted in a woman, including that abhorrent agent's cousin. And trust me, he hates me just as much as I hate him. Eliza’s loyalty to him is the only thing keeping us apart.
But when her life is on the line, can I count on him to help me save the one woman who stole my heart? While each title in this series is a standalone featuring one couple with their own HEA, the books in the series will be more enjoyable read in order.
In the prologue of this book, we see Typhon in trouble. This book takes us through what happened to put him there.
The beginning of this book details how Typhon, Commander of Unit 23 gets involved with the UN Task Force. Unit 23 works on its own and is not mentioned anywhere as it is a top-secret part of the Intelligence community. Typhon has connections with three operatives helping in the initiative, Kima 'Delfino' Sakari, Oleander, and Hornet. Hornet and Oleander are on his team, but Kima is like a sister to him. However, Hornet is on the outside keeping tabs on Oleander and reporting to Typhon.
Next, we meet Eliza Fox, she's an adjunct professor at the University of Edinburgh. She's Nevin 'Saint' St. Thomas' cousin and they are as close as brother and sister. When he calls her with an urgent problem, she drops everything to get to London. Unfortunately, he has a houseguest, so she needs to stay elsewhere. She books a suite at the Claridge and heads out to dinner. This is when she gets her first glimpse of Typhon.
The next morning, she meets Harper who is with Nevin and also gets an earful about her parents, Nigel and Millicent. Nevin gets called away, and Eliza goes to meet with her Nigel for lunch. That doesn't go well for him. There's definitely no love lost there. Eliza spends a week at the Claridge indulging herself for a change and meets up with both Harper and Nevin after they've had dinner with her parents. Nigel and Millicent are obviously a piece of work.
With Typhon we watch the events from his point of view with the missions of the task force. We also learn one of his agents has gone dark. We also get his first impressions when he sees Eliza, and then later when he remembers seeing her. He seems intrigued about a woman he's never met.
Since Eliza and Nevin are cousins, we learn much about Nevin and Harper as well as the trouble Eliza's parents are in. Nevin has a plan to get them out of it. Eliza agrees to the plan and to stay with Harper while Nevin goes on one last mission after the new year. We also learn that Eliza has a connection to Penelope, who we met in 'Code Name: Michelangelo'. She sets a fire under Eliza to get back to her art. Eliza's in London and now has a plan for the spare room in her flat. Nevin calls and invites her out to dinner since Harper didn't make the trip in. Of course, Eliza's on time and Nevin is very late. This is when she meets Typhon.
Interspersed with missions, this is a story of more than one relationship, a dark history, and hidden truths. Typhon and Eliza are perfect for each other but there are many obstacles to overcome along the way.
I couldn't put this book down as several threads come together, and more take flight. I love the way Heather integrates previous missions seamlessly into this story without making it seem repetitive.
I really can't wait for the next book in this series!
Every time I open a Heather Slade book it feels like I'm coming home. I adore her world-building, how all the various groups/series intersect with each other, how all the players are either already familiar faces or will be starring in their own books soon. I'm constantly amazed at how she overlaps all the intricate details of each book, giving us all the history from the points of view of several different characters.
In this book, we've met both Eliza and Typhon before in earlier books, though not in the same book that I recall. Their story starts with giving us their perspective on current events beginning before they met and continuing through the present time (in this world). Because we're given all the backstory, it's not necessary to have read any of the earlier books, but if you have then you'll appreciate all the more the attention to detail and the history each main character has with the other characters.
When Eliza and Typhon finally meet, it's as though we all felt the impact of their immediate connection. There's an inevitability to their relationship that is obvious from the start. Typhon is deliciously dommy, a gentleman when he needs to be, and so much more when the situation calls for it. Eliza is an accomplished woman of means, independent and focusing on finding her purpose. They really fit well together and their love story was effortlessly romantic.
Of course with the line of work Typhon is in, danger is lurking around just about every corner, and it takes all their combined intelligence and cunning determination to find their way to their HEA. Long-buried secrets are finally unearthed, rescues are ultimately successful, and we can bask in their triumphant victory just long enough before we're left breathless with suspense as the next couple gears up for their own story.
This is the best in romantic suspense, and I highly recommend it for anyone who loves a bit of action along with their love story. If you're looking for a new author to binge, Heather Slade delivers the goods in every single book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is the 3rd book in the K19 Allied Intelligence series. We met Typhon way back in team the books of team one. He's kind of lingering in the background from time to time. He's Oleander's boss, (Code Name: Poseidon) but he also has other connections that help the team out. I'll admit I wasn't impressed with his personality in previous books, he comes off as an arrogant well Pr*Ck. He does make a comment in this book that he has to be that way, so people take him seriously. He is an entirely different person with Miss Eliza Fox. He is doting and thoughtful, even if he did propose to her the night they met :) There wasn't as much suspense and intrigue in the book, however I found it more of a recap of team one and team two's books up to this point. We experience them from Typhon's point of view which gives you a different perspective than what you had being in the middle of the Task Force as all the other books. The action really picks up in the last few chapters with a curve ball no one saw coming. That curve ball has ramifications that will lead us to the book in the series Code Name: Hornet I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review. It was on my TBR list regardless, I've read everything Heather Slade has written.
Until Code Name: Typhon, we've had several stores about Unit 23 operators and stories that have touched on or intertwined with Unit 23. Meeting the stoic, gruff, stringent yet caring head of the Unit was definitely a treat. Leviticus Marras AKA Typhon is a man of many talents, faces and deep emotions. Yet, just catching a glimpse of a tall, thin, blonde haired beauty definitely captured his interest. The same goes for Eliza Harper. She only has a quick look at a tall, powerfully built man wth black hair but it's enough to fuel some fantasies. They ultimately meet, after several more sightings of one another and let's just say the chemistry is white hot and the draw is palpable. The relationship builds very quickly but it feels right from the start. There's just one obstacle that needs to be given voice to. Eliza's cousin Nevin St. Thomas AKA Saint, her best friend with hom Levi has a dark hisory. Determined to stay neutral, Typhon gives Saint a wide berth whenever possible. Eliza vows that she's not going anywhere regardless of Niven's demands or opinions. She loves Levi and she's his forever. Danger, action, suspense and intrigue are superbly woven into this stellar romance. Ms. Slade definitely knows how to captre and hold your attention.
Code Name: Typhon is the 2nd book in the K19 AI Team Two series. The romance between Eliza and Typhon stands on its own, but I would not recommend reading this book out of order, because quite a large part of the story is like a condensced recap of events from previous books in this series as well as connections to the Invincibles. I loved Eliza who's a great character, resilient and strong, but had my problems with Typhon, whose almost like a split personality. Emotional, romantic and caring with Eliza, yet arrogant, full of himself and condescending with his team and other members of the coalition. Unlike other books in the series, there aren't a lot of new developments in the suspense plot regarding the coalition's fight against human trafficking. It's only towards the end that an unexpected twist introduces a whole new element of mystery, danger and suspense that will continue when Hornet gets his story next. I was lucky to have received an advanced copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.
Leviticus/Typhon and Eliza. Most of this series I have not liked Typhon, but now that we see his story and what he knew as the details emerged I am a fan. He is an incredible character. Eliza is a gem. She has a tense family situation and falling in love with Levi doesn’t help her family dynamics as her cousin and Levi have a big issue between them. As the reader it is clear what the issue is and how neither has all the details, but the way it comes about in this book and plays out at the end is entertaining and helps build the storyline. The answers about the relationship some noticed with him and Posidion second Delfina were also answered and I loved the sneakiness and caring of it. The ending had a beautiful moment with the blending of art, family and location. This was one of my favorite characters, couples and stories in this world. Not everything is answered though and we see a big problem as a loved one and case agent goes missing as a cliffhanger.
Oh, my just when I think Heather Slade can't bring us a more entertaining read, she does. Typhon will hook you from the beginning and you won't be able to put it down until you finish it. The action, suspense and way that Heather weaves the story of this series together is incredible. The twists and turns in this series as we get closer to a conclusion are so entertaining. When Typhon and Eliza first see each other is quite interesting and the other times they notice each other prior to meeting build up the suspense of when will they finally cross paths. And when they do there is no disappointment. Then to find out Typhon has an issue with her cousin, the most important person in the world to her just adds to the drama. And drama does follow this couple but definitely provides an awesome read for us. I can't wait to see what is going to happen in the next book in this series.
This is the 3rd book in the K19 Allied series. HeatTyphoneates a world full of exciting adventures and characters that just pull all your heartstrings. Sometimes with love and sometimes with frustration but always wanting to know what is one the next page.
Leviticus (Typhon) Marras was on his next assignment but he couldn’t forget the woman who’s face he keeps seeing all over. Eliza Fox is helping her cousin and trying to deal with family drama. When she see’s him the first time she can’t stop dreaming of him.
When fate finally gets her way and they meet face to face life will never be the same. The Typhonon is can their happiness overcome past beliefs and family that just can’t forget? But Typhon has never done anything half way, not when he wants it as much as he does Eliza.
Typhon is commander of Unit 23, the most secretive unit in SIS, who also works with MI6. Anyone who works for him or with him must be discreet and have discipline. Eliza is a professor at a college. She also has a cousin who is an agent that Typhon hates. When they meet Typhon doesn’t know she’s the cousin of Saint, who was responsible for deaths of agents, but he just can’t stop touching her. He’s going to marry her. Then Saint comes walking in and they pretend they don’t know each other. Typhon and Eliza plan to meet up the next day. This story will melt your heart. It’s filled with anxiety because of all the action. Typhon is the epitome of a perfect mate. Eliza is easy going and understanding. She is also the epitome of a perfect mate. They face a lot, but they do it together, as it should be.
I have read all of Ms. Slade's books, including Code Name: Typhon. This novel had plenty steam with several open door bedroom scenes. I enjoyed reading and getting to know Typhon and Eliza. In the beginning, I did not like Typhon AT ALL. However, once Eliza came into his life, he showed a softer side and the harder he fell for Eliza, the more I liked him. On the down side, this book has many characters. Between there given names and code names, I had a difficult time keeping them straight. This story had a lot of moving parts; the main plot and several secondary stories. I've read all of her books but I found myself floundering through this one. Therefore I HIGHLY recommend that you binge read this series to get a better understanding of the characters. I'm going to have to re-read the series to improve my enjoyment. 3 1/2 stars
This book has so much action and the storyline it's unbelievable. You have gotten glimpses of Typhon in other books and his gruff, grizzly bear persona. When Typhon meets Eliza there is such a dramatic shift in his personality. She brings out such a loving and protective man. The instant attraction, love and trust between these two troubled people is heart-warming. So many outside battles they used to fight separately and now they are stronger together. The ongoing hatred between Typhon and Saint comes to a head in this book. This is a must read as you learn about their hatred and feud and of course another storyline appears. Heather Slade does it again with so much action, past characters and interconnected stories to bring us a book you will not want to put down.
Levi sees Eliza when he's in the bar of Claridges, and she notices him, then they catch glimpses of each other. But he's completely involved in the missions run by unknown government groups, a goodie. He can't really tell her what he does.
Turns out her cousin is someone he knows, will he cause trouble between them?
Levi is carefully guatding his secrets but os as open with El as he can be. He trusts her and feels shes his safe soace.
She's had a horrible time with her parents, they appear to have had her because they ought to have a child, not cos they wanted one. She finds that Levi sees her, and supports her. A great relationship between the two.
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Code Name : Typhon . This story is full of intrigue and suspense and definitely romance . Typhon is the commander of Unit 23 it's a special unit in SIS that little know about . Typhon never dreamed he would meet a woman that captures his interest . Their attraction is immediate and all consuming . Eliza Fox has terrible parents . The only person in her family she can count on is her cousin Niven .Niven is an Ml6 Agent . Unfortunately Niven and Typhon know each other and hate each other . It makes it difficult for Eliza and Typhon . When Typhon disappears Eliza is devastated. Niven steps up to find answers and Typhon . This story outstanding it's action packed . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
An instant spark ignites between Typhon and Eliza. Their relationship could have been uncomplicated, but Typhon and Eliza’s beloved cousin hate one another. They both have a story to tell. What is the truth? Often, there is a third side to a story.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are many interconnected parts and personalities, and many of them are related to previous books in this series. I recommend starting from the beginning even though Typhon and Eliza’s story as a couple is standalone. Much of the action connects to previous books. I recommend this story to those who like stories with romance, suspense, treachery, and intrigue.
Wow! Another great story by Heather! This story is about Levi and Eliza. Their meeting was basically delayed because of Levi working and regretting not making contact with Eliza the first time their eyes met. As we read along, we learn that Eliza's cousin, Niven, knows Levi and the two pretty much hate each other for the past ten years. The ending was a bit of a shock to Levi as well as Kima when they found out who was still alive and a double agent. It's unfortunate that the double agent escaped. At least we got to witness a wedding at the end. Levi and Eliza actually eloped in the middle of this story. Exciting news on their home front as well. FANTASTIC job Heather! I would recommend this book! Can't wait for the next book!
Hold on because Typhon comes in with a big splash. As Heather Slade invites you to her world of espionage and intrigue, we dive into the next chapter of Allied Intelligence with Code Name: Typhon. As we’ve moved through the other books, Typhon perhaps can be considered a morally gray character who we loved to hate. From the first chapter of his story arc to the epilogue, we fall in love with him, and we see a new side to him with his love of Eliza. Slade puts magic in her pen as she writes this action packed tale of love, spies, and danger with twists and turns that will make this a page turner that you will not want to put down.
Get ready to fall hopelessly in love! Typhon and Eliza's story is one filled with all the best that Heather Slade is known for - shamessly sexy heros, strong, beautiful heroines, and lots of mystery and intrigue.
We've previously met both Typhon and Eliza in other books by Heather Slade. Typhon is the morally gray commander of Unit 23 who you can't help but love and Eliza is the cousin of his arch nemesis Saint. In Code Name: Typhon readers will see a different side Typhon as he falls hopelessly in love with his El. But then he is abducted and El must go into protective custody. Will the team be able to save him in time? Readers won't want to pay this book down.
What an amazing story Heather has written. We’ve only known Typhon as the Head of Unit 23, the unit that does the deadly tasks. He meets Eliza and sparks fly however she is the cousin of someone he dislikes intensely and the same can be said of how Eliza’s cousin feels about him. As this story moves ahead with the coalition and its mission you will be reunited with characters from previous books. You will also learn more about previous missions and how this will effect Typhon also known as Levi and Eliza. Be prepared for a twist at the end you may or may not guess the ending correctly. Again Heather has given us a story that will keep you captivated.
When someone tells you that you willl love this book, it is quite possible that you may do just that. Heather Slade put the connections that we have read in to perspective and ensures that you stay intrenched in the book you are reading. The Chemestry we see in each of the previous books just explodes off the pages when you get into the book and the feel from both Typhon and Eliza. It follows perfectly from Poseidon to Zeppelin to Puck then to Michelangelo. We get the insight we through we knew from those previous from what Typhon goes through and where it all goes wrong to where it is righted in the end. I absolutely loved this book. I can't wait to see what happens next!
It’s interesting to note that Typhon is a creature from Greek mythology. (I had to look it up too).
Typhon is head of the super-secret unit 23, and ”Mystery Man” to Eliza Fox, an art professor/artist. These two start with sightings and semi-meetings. Until they ultimately meet. The chemistry between them is incendiary.
A delight to me is that this story runs “parallel” to another in this series, so we see events again, from another perspective. A good balance between the action and the emotions. A bit of who is good/bad and putting others first. An excellent read.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
Typhon is the 3rd book in the K19 allied intelligence team two series This is a stand alone book, but I recommend reading the series in order, to get the full back story and all the different characters and their positions in the team. Typhon is a ruff, gruff, arrogant jerk amongst his colleges, but with Eliza he is thoughtful, kind, loving, and just all around wonderful. This story recaps what has happened through the human trafficking story, but in Typhon's perspective. This story is full of laughter, tears, family drama, romance, intrigue, and combustible chemistry and attraction. Another must read! Heather Slade has given us another great story that doesn't disappoint.
Who knew that Typhon could be such a romantic!!! All it takes is the right woman and for Typhon that woman is Eliza. He falls hard and fast for this woman who will become his anchor. Heather Slade has created a very complex character in Typhon, a man who keeps everything very close to his chest because of his job and Eliza allows another side of him to come to light. He is forced to face a dark part of his past that has ties to his relationship with Eliza and his current assignment. Code Name: Typhon starts of action packed and never stops. I cannot wait for Hornet and Delfino's story!!!
Code Name: Typhon is book 3 in the K19 Allied Intelligence, Team Two series by Heather Slade and another great addition!
We have read about Typhon in past books and now it’s his turn to find the “one” namely Eliza, who will change and enhance his life for the better but first he needs to deals with a dark past, family loyalty and issues, twists, turns, action, edge of your seat suspense and more…can’t wait for more in this explosive series!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved Typhon's gentleness, but also his decisiveness, especially in the bedroom. A chance meeting and both of them hoping to see each other again, even before they know each other. They each are unsure that they fit together, as they are each feel like a puppy dog following something they want. This is so sweet and it was beautiful to read. Talking about Levi's decisiveness, I loved, LOVED the hour tour chapter, that was hot! As usual the time line is awe inspiring to follow throughout all the books, it matches every time you get a new book.
Amazing. The complex, intense, brooding Typhon has a soft side that Eliza Fox brings out. Eliza is intelligent and strong, despite a rough childhood when her parents handed her off to nannies and sent her to boarding schools. The only family member who gave her any love is a cousin, a man Typhon has hated for years. It is a story filled with action, intrigue, and romance. The characters are complex and it is a joy to watch them develop. I received a copy, and I'm voluntarily giving my honest review.
Another brilliant book and this one gives us a all new perspective on what has been going on in this world Like always it is a feeling of coming home. This book is the story of Typhon, Commander of Unit 23 and Iliza Fox who is the cousin of Saint we have previously met both of them but now we get the story of them meeting and the instant attraction between them. But as always there will be twist and turns as they connect and we also get an in depth look at some previous characters. All together a great story that kept me engaged until the last page
Slade gives us a world where lines crosses over so much it spins you out. Typhoon literally pulls out all brakes when he meets El & sweeps her off. I loved his intense love & venerability for her. El came across as level minded & I enjoyed her characters. Pace picks up once they get together with family drama, team issues & danger that takes Typoon by surprise. Enjoy this spy world. Honest review.
A love at first sight blooms as Eliza and Typhon begin their journey of love in getting to know each other but the winding road is full of pot holes with twists, turns, action and who do you trust. But will the biggest surprise mend the rift between Typhon and Saint and allow Eliza her relationship with her cousin and if Typhon makes it back alive? This is an edge of your seat journey that leads Eliza and Typhon to the love of their life!!
Another excellent read from the prolific Heather Slade. Unit 23 in the British Intelligence community is very secretive and deadly, and Typhon is the leader. He is tough, disciplined, professional and a bit of an ass. But, he falls hard for Eliza Fox. The two of them have great chemistry but must overcome issues of the outside world and their backgrounds. A very enjoyable read with appearances of characters from other books.
"Code Name: Typhon" (K19 Allied Intelligence Team Two Book 3) by Heather Slade was a great read. I enjoyed Typhon and Eliza's story. This story had romance, passion, action, suspense, twists, entertaining characters, family, close friends, and more. This was a wonderful addition to this series. I'm excited to read what happens next. I highly recommend it to all fans of romance, suspense, action, and series.
