Indie is a hardheaded teenager that knows what she wants in life and knows what it will take to save both her family and her people. What she doesn’t know is that she is facing the adventure and the challenge of a lifetime trying to convince the Mountain Guardian to save her people. It’s unlike any other retelling I can think of. It is unique and the characters are fascinating. I can imagine what the Mountain Guardian looks like, and I can fully believe that he would be quite the monster to keep Indira on her toes wanting to win him over. This is a clean fantasy romance that lives up to its hype. Christine and Steve make an amazing team, bringing their stories to life and keeping their readers involved with their stories.
I love the way Christine takes the classics throws them in a bowl and shakes them all around to come up with a whole new twist with lessons to learn and fun to be had perfect for all ages
Although this book was tuned for a younger audience than me, I thought it was a very sweet story and a very fun read. It stated true to the main points of beauty and the beast but with some excellent creative changes, I particularly liked the dream world idea.
Indi is such a great character that you really root for. I did find it a bit predictable but honestly I feel like fairytale retelling are supposed to be, particularly for the younger audience.
I was given this book as a gift because of my love for beauty and the beast and it was a great retelling! There were many elements that you would find in the original books, but also uniqueness in Christine’s story. Some parts I had to remind myself that the FMC is 17 in the story, but over all it was a great read!
This was the sweetest story!! A Beauty and the Beast retelling, it had everything from fantasy to romance to adventure!! There was magic and love and loss and heartbreak. I’ll definitely be reading this again, and I can’t wait to read her other books!
I couldn't put this one down. This is definitely one of my favorite if not favorite retailing now, and I honestly think I liked it better than Disney's Beauty and Beast!
