Born in 1962, Lee Alan Dugatkin is a professor and distinguished university scholar in the department of biology at the University of Louisville. His main area of research interest is the evolution of social behavior.

The articles are important summaries of research that has been carried out over many years and highlights the process of choosing and developing such research. This book provides many great insights into behavior and how to conduct research, especially field research. Though the articles differ in style, they are all well written and engaging. I highly recommend this book for all graduate students in behavioral ecology as well as for those interested in the history and process of science.
