This is a strong book that offers an unusual take on supervision. The attention is on enculturation of doctoral candidates. The focus on socialization - the development of cultures of doctoral education - is excellent.

The culture of supervision is difficult to understand and configure. This book explores how to create a social matrix for doctoral students.
