THIS CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE, OR AS PART OF THE KOMOREBI SERIAL KILLER SERIES
Friendships are tested, secrets revealed, and darkness exposed when the perfect island getaway becomes a fight for survival. In this heart-pounding thriller, the allure of a private island turns into a nightmare of survival for five best friends.
The GGs, inseparable since their university days, have been looking forward to celebrating their 40th birthdays on a luxurious private island, far removed from their daily responsibilities. In an architectural marvel overlooking the Salish Sea, with every need taken care of, it seems like paradise on Earth – a dreamy escape from their busy lives.
But the island's isolated beauty is not the peaceful haven they believe it to be. A group of radicals are intent on using the GG’s celebration for their own agenda. This dark team is driven by misplaced rage, bitterness, and a twisted ideology fueled by their hatred against women. They are proud members of the manosphere.
As night falls, the island transforms into their sinister playground, and the friends find themselves caught in a deadly game. Cut off from the mainland, they must rely on their wits, resilience, and the strength of their bond to survive the harrowing onslaught that follows.
Escaping their relentless pursuers is just the beginning. To thwart the monsters, they must unearth hidden truths, confront their deepest fears, and work together to outsmart their adversaries.
Small Gods is a gripping tale of loyalty and courage, where friendships are tested, and the battle for survival takes on an entirely new meaning. Prepare to be seized by this heart-stopping page-turner that delves into the minds of those who sow hatred and the indomitable strength of friendship that dares to defy the shadows.
Things about me: • I lived in 19 houses before I was 20 years old, and my family was not in the military. • I started an animal/human welfare nonprofit that continues to operate and keep families together. • For 8 years I owned a buy one, give one pet food brand that supported rescues & shelters across the country. • Unsurprisingly, I have a thing for ‘special’ animals like my dog Chance, who was paralyzed in the back end, and my canine child Charlie, who was born blind. No animals will ever be hurt or killed in my books. (People are totally fair game.) • Even though I’m not a tech bro, I lived in my warehouse for a year (not as cool as it sounds, btw). • Before I ran away from home in LA and moved to Iowa, I worked with celebs. • I used to have severe social phobia; now I’m a big-mouthed, opinionated beast.
I LOVE Sara Ennis, more people should be reading her books and sharing about them! Her Dollhouse series is dark, gritty, and addicting. Her latest book is different from the rest. There was a lot of description and setting the scene, probably the first 35% or so, which is different from the Dollhouse series jumping right into the action and turmoil. I appreciated the visualization I could picture with the setting. ☺️ Small Gods was a slow burn until about the 70% mark, this was when the Sara Ennis I know came shining through! I really enjoyed this action packed part of the book! I would have loved to see more of this throughout, but I can appreciate trying something different for sure! I liked the hint at the end….you will know what I mean when you read it!
She has two books coming out this year and I can’t wait!
Goddammit Sara has done it again! This was a wild ride that I completely devoured in one day. Fast paced and exciting, every time I thought I knew the secret I was wrong. I absolutely loved this quick read! You do not need to have read the duality series to read this story but for those who have there are a few Easter eggs! I loved the multiple points of view and getting to know the characters as the secrets were exposed. Sara is quickly becoming one of those authors I will buy her books from without even reading what it’s about because they are that good 😂
What a roller-coaster ride!! The book drew me in from the beginning and held my attention until the surprising end. The characters were well described. The setting was a perfect getaway vacation destination until all hell broke loose. Who will survive? The book is filled with twists and turns which will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is my first book by Sara Ennis but definitely not my last.
What can I say but WOW!!! I have read all of this author's books and she blows me away each time. If you enjoy books that reel you in from the get go; where characters take on real life proportions; where you can really immerse yourself in the narrative, then you need to introduce yourself to the works of Sara Ennis. You will not be disappointed.
I loved this book. It really highlights the inadequacies some men face when confronted by women who for all intensive purposes are more successful than them. And I love how the author calls it out as being their problem and not the women's. Such an important novel to be reading at this time in the world
Easy to get into with interesting characters and storyline. Friendships and relationships expose secrets. There is a clue in the background that something is coming and it unravels in a high action adventure. It was a bit drawn out and surreal.
Small Gods is well-written, however, too many detailed descriptions that make the story slow and far from being a thriller. It's nevertheless entertaining. I thank Ms. Ennis and Amazon for the free copy of this book.
2.5, not bad but very average. Wish the beginning and lead up was shortened so the plot twist and climax could be more drawn out and explained a little more.
This one had way too much character development for me - the action that came after 50% of the book was done was really good but I almost didn’t bother pushing through to it…
