Illus. in full color. From the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, to the pilgrimage of the three wise men, this richly illustrated retelling of the birth of Christ celebrates the true meaning of Christmas.
While I really wanted to like this re-telling I was quite bothered by the very first page. The author introduces Mary & Joseph as married couple who receive the news that Mary will bear God's child. My problem is that Mary & Joseph were not yet married, as Mary is a virgin when she becomes pregnant with Jesus.
Balance of Content The balance between dialogue, description, and action is maintained quite well. No single element dominates the text, which creates a harmonious flow for the reader. The author moves between these different modes of writing with professional ease. Discover the ratio of action to dialogue by following the link. >>> https://script.google.com/macros/s/AK...
They failed to mention that the Virgin Mary was not yet married to Joseph when the Angel Gabriel told Mary the Annunciation that she would conceive and give birth to Jesus. The illustrations are beautiful but the coloring is very strange. They gave Mary orange hair and purple eyes... Baby Jesus also has purple eyes...
