She’s no stranger to dangerous situations, but she’ll never make it out of this one alive without the help of her Navy SEAL.

Bo “Safe” Cyders was born to protect. He loves his job as a Navy SEAL and takes his oath to protect his country and the men on his team seriously. So when a woman literally stumbles into his arms at Aces Bar and Grill, begging for help, he doesn’t hesitate to act.

Wren Defranco’s online date went south quickly, and when she wakes up in a strange bed, in a room she doesn’t recognize, she’s certain she’ll end up a statistic on some random crime show. Instead, she’s somehow found not only one of the world’s rare good guys, but someone she can rely on… and easily fall for.

When her job sends her to South Sudan, a country ravaged by civil unrest, Wren learns exactly how lucky she was to run into Bo that fateful night at Aces. She’ll need every bit of survival intel he and his SEAL friends ingrained in her before the trip—and the hope of a rescue mission—if she stands any chance of lasting long enough to experience what it truly means to have real trust, a devoted family…and genuine love.

** Protecting Wren is the 2nd book in the SEAL of Alliance Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

When she's drugged at a bar and unknowingly finds just the right man to help her 😍

I just want to say that her work trip was CRAZY! My heart was beating out of my chest. I'm so glad she was prepared because the possible scenarios were intense.

I'm even more excited for Blink's story now! Poor Josie 🥺

Protecting Wren🫶

Wren decides she’s going to put herself out there and start dating again. But when a first date goes wrong and she finds herself asking a stranger for help, she unexpectedly puts herself in Safe’s “safe” hands🙌 When Wren meets the stranger who helped her the night before, she immediately feels at ease but the walls she has built around herself, will take some gentle handling but Safe is nothing if not determined to show her who he is and while at it build her up too🥰

Wren is an amazing female character and portrays traits that every woman should possess. Loved Safe and how he went above and beyond for Wren. A couple of sneak surprises in their story and now I’m eager for 2025, so I can get my hands on the next book in this series❣️

Safe & Wren

Yet another winner from Susan Stoker. She never lets me down! Her imagination just knows no bounds. This one was extra special because not only did we meet someone new to add to the Seal family, we got to know this seal team better and we were able to visit with so many old friends!! So good! Safe and Wren had several bumps in the road and it only brought them closer together. Love it and anxiously awaiting the next story in this seal team.

I love Susan stokers books and the seal teams are my favorite. I loved revisiting wolf’s team and any book with tex in it is a winner. But this girl.. I couldn’t understand why she went on that trip. She had only been in that job for a month and she already didn’t like the boss or her co-workers. When her seal team boyfriend and his mentors tell you they wouldn’t go, that it’s 100% chance of getting kidnapped and here’s a few survival tips when you do get kidnapped.. there ain’t no job that is worth that. Especially if the government says they will not sanction anyone to get you and they also advise you not to go. Then your boss refuses you extra security and you are the only female. Nope. So I couldn’t get past that. I listened and yes I knew they would rescue her but why? For a job she doesn’t love and obvious risks to everyone’s safety. Read the news.
I just couldn’t understand her decision and therefore I thought everything that happens after that was unnecessary and frankly criminal. Those other people died and our seal team put their life on the line for her and completely ungrateful business men.
Other than that.. the book was pleasant. I like the first one best. But I have a feeling I’m gonna love Blinks story next. Keep listening! This is just my opinion because there is nothing that could make me go into an area even the seals don’t go. No thanks. No job is worth your life or the life of our seals to rescue you.

I always enjoy Susan Stoker's books but my number of stars may not reflect that. I can't give them more than 3 because they're pretty formulaic, and the term "mushroom head" makes me cringe. Every. Time.

I speed through the books, and look forward to reading them, but still...they're pretty fluffy.

Stumbling into Safe’s love

I loved this military romance with its perfect mix of love, real life issues, palpable danger, and spicy romance. This heart warming story includes two strong, intense, and passionate main characters who are real, relatable people who have flaws and make mistakes, but are really just trying to just do their best being messy humans. I have a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in, like Wren. So I love when they finally see their truth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. Wren is the recently hired PR rep for BT Energy. Her team is scheduled to go to South Sudan for a PR event to support a planned pipeline project but the country is unstable. Bo is a Navy Seal. They meet at a bar when Wren, who’d been drugged by her date, asked Bo for help right before she passed out. That event not only protects Wren and accidentally moves her into Bo’s house, but is the beginning of their journey to their HEA. To get to there, they’ll just need to deal with danger from a stalker and a kidnapping along with their overwhelming fast feelings. Bo and Wren’s love story has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face spice, dangerous heart stopping action, painful pasts, strong friendships, swoons, and laughs. Expect to feel all the things - fear, love, anger, redemption, tears, joy, and so much all encompassing, nurturing, protective love. Susan Stoker is a master at balancing a story of romance, danger, and personal growth. And while most of us will never be in the dangerous situations the main characters are a part of, the author nevertheless makes who they are as people so relatable and real that it is easy to fall in love with them. I cannot wait to hear what happens next for the men in Seal of Protection: Alliance series. Also, I’d like a tracker toe ring.

Susan Stoker is the best! I love everything she has written!

There is no one close to Susan Stoker's talent when it comes to writing suspenseful action-packed romances with a military theme. It is easy to get lost in her books that feature hunky alpha males , usually special operators and extraordinary women whom they fall in love with. You can't go wrong with any of Susan's romance adventures.

Protecting Wren is the second book in Susan's SEAL of Protection: Alliance series. Susan has created a new team of SEALS for this series and blended them perfectly with appearances of members of the older teams from her other series. I loved the importance the older wives club played into the lives of Wren and the herione from book one, Remi. As usual, I fell for Wren as soon as I met her. I wanted to hug her tight and convince her she was not alone anymore. Susan Stoker is a master at controlling my emotions! She has a knack for developing characters like Wren, who are easy to relate to. Before you know it, you are so involved with their story that you laugh at their jokes ,cry at their heartbreaking moments, and hold your breath at all the dangerous situations they must survive.

In Protecting Wren, Susan catapults you immediately into the action on page one. She continues to turn up the heat as Wren seems to escape one danger only to find herself in another escapade immediately after. A romantic at heart, though Susan always ensures that characters like Wren and the hero Bo, find love despite adversity. The suspense in this novel was intense. Yet, despite having more twists than a roller coaster ride, Susan still brings the book to a happily ever after ending.

Well done, Susan! Book three is already pre-ordered. I can't wait to see what you have in store for our SEAL team next!

Tough. As. Nails.

Wren knows she isn't weak, she has survived too much to ever be called that, but she has no idea just how strong she really is until she meets Bo (aka Safe). He reminds her daily just how strong, smart and capable she is, but it is the faith that he and his team put in her as they "help her prep" for her trip that really has her believing she can be strong. And she needs every ounce of that faith to survive when all their worst fears are realised. She more than proves herself staying strong, staying quiet and plotting.....waiting for her opportunity.
Bo knows she is his the moment he sees her, he loses his heart the second she asks him for help before passing out in his arms and each and every time she faces danger he loses another five years off his life. Making people feel safe is his superpower, seeing Wren hurt and in danger, his Kryptonite.
That she would be welcomed into the team family was never in question, but she fits perfectly, not only with Remi, but with all the original guys and girls too, it is awesome that we still have Wolf and his team playing such a big role in this series, it is one huge extended family filled with love, support and acceptance.
I am so excited we get Blink's book next, he needs to be needed and to prove to himself he can protect somebody so much more than the rest of the team. We all know he proved himself when he saved Remi, but he still doubts himself, his judgement and his worth - I equally look forward to and dread his and Josie's book.

Wren really goes through it in this one. Right from the start, it starts with Wren, so glad that she was able to realize something was wrong and asked the right person for help. In the morning, the note that Safe left for Wren, really expressed how safe and lucky she was in who helped her.

I loved too that despite all this turmoil happening in her life, Wren was now surrounded by people that would help keep her safe, provide a place for her to fit in and a new family. All things sorely missing in her life.

You just knew Wren's trip to Africa would go bad, I kept waiting for the shoe to drop the whole time, so when it did, I loved seeing Wren remember what she was taught and do what she could to keep herself safe until the guys could get to her.

Then when she was back home, you would think it would be all good, nothing but butterflies and puppies for Wren and Safe, but sadly no. That first threat reared it's head again and this time Wren knew she needed to do whatever it took and did. Luckily the others were right there to help her deal with the aftermath.

I loved how Wren dealt with her job when she went back to work, it was the right thing to do. Even better was what happened next for her career wise, I think that will be great for her all around.

PROTECTING WREN (Seal of Protection: Alliance #2) Written by Susan Stoker!
Wren Defranco had been brought up in a horrible environment with a mother who treated her awful. She didn't even know who her father was, but her mother talked trash about him. She finally was taken away from her mother when she'd attacked her daughter and physically hurt her. She ended up in foster-care, which was not as bad as life had been with her mother. Bo “Safe” Cyders was out with a few of his friends at a neighborhood bar & grill, when a woman approached him and begged for his help. Him being a Navy SEAL meant that he went into action because he's sure that the woman had drugs put in her drink. He took her out of the place and to his home. He put her to bed in his guest room and checked on her throughout the night. He left her a note saying she was free to leave, or she could stay while he'd fix breakfast of her choice. When Wren chooses to stay and it ended up being the right thing to do. Bo Cyders turned out to be a good man, and with her bad date on the loose she had picked the perfect man to stay with. This Susan Stoker's book is another action-packed, romantic suspense, with a bit of darkness. I haven't read a one that I haven't enjoyed.

After Wren stumbles into Bo in a bar, and he rescues her after her date drugs her, her whole world changes. She finds herself in the care of a man who will protect here, help her and take care of her any way he can. When she discovers that she has to go on a dangerous trip to Africa, Wren learns it is not just Bo who will be there for her, but his entire SEAL family. They teach her what to do in worst case scenarios, equip her with lifesaving tools, and promise her that if anything goes wrong they will be the ones to come rescue her. After that worst case scenario becomes real, Bo is in a race to find Wren before he looses her forever.

This book was so much more than a romance. It was a thriller, a mystery and a great adventure story. Bo and Wren built a relationship one moment at a time. Bo was so patient with her, showing Wren just how much she meant, and how far he would go to keep her safe. He never criticized or balked when she was overwhelmed, he just stood by her, and loved her. Showing her every day how much he, and his SEAL family would love her and care for her.

The last few chapters were adrenaline fueled and the pace was intense. It made the story all that more layered and interesting. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to others by Stoker.

Wren Defranco is in trouble and knows it but she walks past several men before stopping Bo "Safe" Cyders and asking for help. Thus begns the highly charged, exciting, suspenseful, dangerous and emotional romance; Protecting Wren. W=en has always had to make her own way. Her childhood was abysmal. She had no one who cared or to lean on. As a result she's wary and distrustful but there's something about Bo that makes her want to trust him. He's definitely one of the good ones. A caregiver and protector through and through. He gives her comfort, assurance and a soft place to fall. They move toward something very special between them. Bo and his team also give her information, some training and equip her with necessities she may need for what turns out to be an ill-fated trip that she not only survives but does it spectacularly. Her courage and will to live will be tested again though. Ultimately she wins on all fronts and gets what has been missing in her life: love, famiy, frienship and a happily ever after.

The best thing I love about Susan's stories is thst women are strong. And kickbutt savvy. And in this book some of the male characters are made out to be arrogant and stupid. I laugh and fist pump at at patriarchal attitude. It's just so worth listening just to get the end and chant " a woman told you so"
There was a huge amount of action and so many subplots that just kept me listening. Absolutely adored having past characters make an appearance and creating a fantastic vibe in the plotline. And omg! Tex, awesome Tex.
Fiona and Cookie are one of my many favourites and it was a bonus for me to listen to them in the storyline.
It was so different to have the heroine prepared and ready which just let her be a badass and it was so good. And the scenes in the jungle, kudos to Wren
Susan took this story overseas as well as local which just added to the suspense. There were gutwrenching moments, horror induced parts, romantic times, steamy bits and just so fantastic.
It was brilliant.
Mackenzie and Teddy breathed life into the characters and were so awesome.
So looking forward to more

bo e wren

She did it again!

Dang it Susan! Bo and Wren have every horrible thing happen to them. Wren literally falls into Bo when she is drugged in a bar by her date. He takes her home and the chaos ensues. Stalkers, rebels, evil bosses. You know, the usual suspects.

I’m not going to give away any major spoilers. But non stop action and drama roll out as we see old friends and meet new ones.

In this genre, when you have an author as prolific as Susan Stoker, you can start to see repeats of elements of storylines and the types of trouble these couples get into. But not in this story. Yes, there is a strong as steel heroine. Yes, there is the gorgeous alpha male and his team. But the way they get their HEA and the steps they go thru to get there: pure Susan Stoker and nothing I have read before! Except for Tex. There is always Tex. There should always be Tex. IYKYK.

15/10 recommend this y’all. Read it! You won’t be disappointed!

Bo & Wren

Wren has definitely had a rough life, and Bo rescuing her is the perfect 180 her life deserves. I love the way Bo (aka Safe) shows Wren she's safe with him right from the beginning.

His teammates also pitch in when her work trip to an insanely dangerous country is mandatory. I love the connection they all make! The guys (& Remi, plus Caoline & the other OGs) are impressed with her actions regarding the trip & recognize her as the perfect match for Safe.

She once again has to go through some intense stuff on that trip, & shows her strength & bravery in how she handles it. Soooo good! And Bo's such a protector!!

She & Bo don't get to explore their chemistry in a more physical way for a while, but when they do - 🔥🌶🔥🌶🔥🌶! They're both very... creative. 😁

I absolutely love the twists in this story! And omh, the tease for the next SEAL to fall...!!

😍😍😍

Susan Stoker has done it again. This book is awesome

Wren has been through a lot in her life and it taught her she couldn't trust anyone and would probably never feel safe. She doesn't have any family she can count on. Bo "Safe" is the one Wren asks for help in the bar when her date drugged her. Go takes her to his place and makes sure she is safe. Now she is traveling to Sudan for her job so she turns to Bo and his team to prepare het for going there. Bo's team is deployed near there and wait for her to leave Sudan before they leave, but Even and the other co-workers are kidnapped. Will she remember what TBE guys told hef? Will she be able to escape and stay safe until the team can ring her and her co-workers? Will she find the family she had always wanted?

I loved it! We get an inside scoop on Safe and Wren. I could really see Wren’s situation happen at the beginning in real life. Scary! I also have to say that I love it when we go back to the jungle. Not sure why but those stories are certainly entertaining. I am enjoying all the guys/gals from the original series showing up in these books. Makes me want to reread them again! I also am excited for the next in the series! That sneak peek is going to make the waiting so hard! I listened to this on audio. Mackenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton rocked the narration. Really made me feel like Teddy encompassed Safe. Loved it!

Great book to read and Susan has hit another home run with this book. Ever since I read the description, I couldn't wait for it to come out. I was not disappointed. But the guy who drugged her was truly a bad guy. Glad that these guys have Tex on their side. Love Wren and Bo together; great couple. But her boss where she works leaves a lot to be desired. Has no feelings for anyone and doesn't care about the people who work for him. Wren's mother was truly horrible. Didn't deserve her and glad, as a little girl she got away from her. She's a strong person and will not let anything get her down. If you haven't read this series yet, start with the first book and keep reading.

Protecting Wren by Susan Stoker

This is the second book in the series. It is Safe (Bo) and Wren’s story. Wren was in foster care since she was ten after running away from her horrible mother. She has no family and recently moved to Riverton for a new job. She was out on a date when her date drugged her. She knew this and went up to Safe asking for help, passing out in his arms. They like each other and Wren continues to live at Safe’s house. Naturally drama occurs and Safe and his seal team must save Wren. They get their HEA and Wren gets more family tan she knows what to do with.

excellent

Another superb action packed tale from Susan Stoker. I loved having old friends involved again and wherever would everyone be without TEX? Wren is a strong woman who has lived through a horrendous childhood and come out the other side, I love how she knows when to listen and take on board good advice. Bo has seen terrible things but comes from a loving family and recognises what he is looking for in Wren . Their story is one of overcoming the odds and coming out safely on the other side.

Loved this story. Bo “Safe” Cyders literally runs into Wren when she needs help in a bar. Help from a blind date who drugs her. Safe helps her and he shows her she can trust someone.

Wren had a horrific childhood but she’s trying her best as an adult to deal with it and move on. And now she’s destined to go with her company to South Sudan, a country in crisis so it’s certain Safe will need to save her once again.

Wren is strong and determined. Safe adores her. Another amazing Susan Stoker heroine who totally deserves this Navy SEAL.

I am really enjoying this new series! The men and women have an extra edge to them that makes them refreshing. Bad things happen and people get hurt, and not only the bad guys, sometimes are main characters as well, but, the resolutions are completely unexpected. Wren and Safe fit this, and while there were some moments where I was ‘whoa, why’d you do that?’ it made perfect sense once context was given. A few extra twists in this one, and that just made it all the better!

Amazing

Susan does it again. Every word is mind boggling, full of heart, struggle, danger, unbelievable courage and it’s hot! Wren is so strong. From the age of 4 and she survives daily, by minutes and seconds. She’s intelligent, smart, fearless and loving. She’s had to be surviving what she’s had to face. No is her reward. He’s everything. I loved this book so much. Happy. Reading.

Safe and Wren

Susan always has this way of sucking you into the words she writes and this book was not a disappointment; she sucked me right into their world and I felt all the emotions along with Safe and Wren. I wanted to yell, cry, commit murder, cheer her on...all the feels.

Thank you Susan for the journey, I want to revisit this couple, I want to see their kids, get to know their family. I want to keep in touch because I'm not ready to say goodbye.

Family

Wren and Safe. A less than ideal meeting and the danger for Wren didn’t stop there. Safe is a great team member and his name is fitting. Remi and Kevlar are prominently featured as are Wolf and Caroline. The storyline is interesting and frustrating for how little her boss listens or cares. The father information was surprising and Tex’s contributions made all the difference. Another great read and perfect addition to the series and SEAL world!

Protecting Wren

Wren finally decided to start dating again and was drugged. The good news is she asked 'Safe'(Bo) for help, from that point on she was kept safe or as safe as possible. Wren had had a very difficult life from a small child forward, no one to care for her or about her. Now she has Safe and his team of SEALs at her back. When her life takes a few very bad turns, will they still be able to keep her safe?

5 stars for Protecting Wren by Susan Stoker

Another amazing read for an amazing series. Wren has suffered so much in this book. She is so strong. Amazing storyline. It is a very good storyline to show that we should always be situationally aware. I am very happy that Wren and Safe find each other. Lots of action in this book. A must-read Susan Stoker book. Can't wait for the next installment of the Seal of Protection Alliance series.
