This is my very favorite re-telling of the Christmas story. Once you have kids, it becomes real and genuine. We read it over and over each year. I recommend it to everyone when they ask what book is good to share with a class that may or may not have heard the story before. What child can't understand when a game of pretend becomes real? WOW - just what they always wanted to happen.
It is out of print, but worth the hunt to see if you can find. If you can find it - treasure it.
