The poems are well written. You can feel the emotion that is written and makes you think about your true self. My favorite poem that I read was Support System. This made me think of the loving Support system that I have and makes me cherish them so much. Great read.

4.5*

Firstly, I want to thank the talented Ry Reed for sending me a sneak peek of this lovely book! Secondly, I would like to emphasize that this is an honest review.

As I read the poems, I could clearly visualize the scenes between the author and what I assume is/was her special person getting to know each other, walking together, laughing, etc. It brought me back to similar memories of experiences I have had. Some of them were memories I didn’t even remember I had.

From the sneak peek I received, it was obvious how much emotion was put into this piece. It was not a deluge of emotion, not gut-wrenching or heart-pouring, but flowing steadily like a stream or river. I was able to resonate with a lot of it. My only little critique is that I, personally, wish there were more details and/or metaphors. Nonetheless, I still think this writing is beautiful and captures a beautiful perspective of the feeling of falling in love.

I especially liked the poems about brown eyes since I have them; you always hear poems and songs about blue or green eyes, but it’s very rare to hear about brown ones.

I love poetry like this and would highly recommend this piece to anyone who is looking for a quick but moving read!

“Late Night Drives to You” by Ry Reed

Ry was gracious enough to provide me with a sneak peek at “Late Night Drives to You” and I am happy to report that it was an absolutely beautiful collection of poems covering the ups and downs of relationships in a deeply emotional manner. My favorites were “I Wonder”, “I’m Listening” and “Women”. I felt myself reminiscing about my past relationships - the excitement, the infatuation, the act of falling and on the hurt, the pain, the self-doubt. Ry perfectly captures the highs of newfound love and the dangers of being swept up by a relationship and losing one’s self. My favorite line was “She likes a challenge, whether she realizes this about herself or not. The more unpredictable you are, kept on her toes, the more her interest grows.” And WOW, does that hit home. I think we all want to believe that our love can repair broken parts of our partners and we can overcome the struggle, but we have to remind ourselves, at what cost?

Beautiful work, perfect format for jotting down notes and drawings! Thank you for sharing your words, Ry!

I received a sneak peek copy of Late Night Drives to You when I contacted the author @ry.reed.the.writer directly because I was interested to read this new release.
To start, the book’s simple layout is primed for some insightful annotations if you feels inclined to it, I know I do. The poems read as snippets of life intermingled with the self-talk that is born from deep awareness of our own consciousness.
I could relate some of the poems to situations I’ve had while in relationships, and others I could picture myself speaking to a mirror while I do my makeup in the morning.
There are layers of relatedness that come easily and others to ponder through, such is poetry.
Overall, I’m very glad I got to contact the writer and read these poems in a fair exchange of love for writing that’s personal and yet universal.
The physical book should be a cherished one in the bookshelves of any poetry lover.

This collection of poems tells an intricate story of every type of love you find in life. Weather you’re head over heels for someone or trying to find love for yourself again. I cannot express my gratitude to Ry Reed enough for beautifully writing a book that took me down memory lane, allowed me to reflect on my past, and come to terms with feelings I never intended to deal with. I felt like I had a big sister holding my hand the entire time I read this. Everytime I need that reassurance I’m going to pick this right back up!

First off, I would like to give my thanks again to Ry Reed for sending me a sneak peak of her book to me!!!

I have never read a collection of poems like this before, and it was such a unique and special experience. It felt like we were hearing the whispers of the author's inner most thoughts on the page. It was heartfelt, raw, and deep. It was also extremely thought provoking and moving. If you love poetry or are someone who needs to feel seen after a bad romance experience this is the perfect poem collection for you to explore!!!

I haven't read poetry since middle school, so this wasn't my normal genre of reading. I really did enjoy reading these poems. I even took a screenshot of my favorites. These are so good! This may be my intro to adding more poetry to my TBR list.
