Max's desk is so messy that his teacher makes him stay in from recess to clean it. Thankfully Zoe stays in to help him. While cleaning, they find a month of homework buried in the mess. Max has a lot of work to do before he can go out and play in the snow.

In this book for early readers, Max's desk at school is such a mess that he forgets assignments that he stashed inside it. After he and his best friend Zoe sort through the mess, he ends up with the neatest desk in the class. I liked the fact that his teacher notices and offers encouragement. So many times folks seem to notice only the mistakes children make.
