Charlee, Sydney and Sean are back with the second action-packed adventure in The Golden Tiger.
In 1944 General Yamashita is alleged to have stolen billions of dollars to fund the Japanese war effort. When it suddenly disappears rumours are strife.
When happened to the money and also the tons of gold that just vanished without trace?
Present day and Charlee along with her parents are trying to have a bit of downtime after their explosive last adventure.
But nothing stays still in the Flynn household.
When they hear rumours about the mysterious Sindak Island they enlist the help of Ren to uncover the truth regarding the wealth.
But of course they are not the only ones looking for it, when scrupulous Andrew Yang hires Sea Dragons, notorious pirates that will kill anyone who gets in their way.
Their leader Riku Satu and second in command Katashi are out for blood.
What all of them discover in their quest to find the treasure shocks them all.
A mythical creature the Bakunawa has a hunger for something and it isn't the gold!

Nice continuation to the Flynn family adventures, the author still struggles with portraying Charlee as a teenager, mostly shifting between an actually really good protrayal to just a bunch of modern references, but it's better, I would have liked more struggle with the realization of the dangers of her new lifestyle, as it was touched in various parts but unfullfilling trough the end, maybe something better will be done with that in the third book.
Also, Charlee's moral compass seems to move conveniently to the situation, but maybe I'm nitpicking here.

Great story telling! Matt James is a master at blending modern treasure hunting, history, and folklore together making one want to never stop reading. Action, adventure, and some humor thrown in keeps your interest to the end. Cheers to Matt for keeping me entertained!

Only okay
Seemed more like a young teen read than an adult adventure. Good plot, good character development but…Can’t go into details without ruining the story. Read it if you want, just pretend you’re 13 or14.

The more I read this book I felt that the writer had managed to create a fictional story that may have had an element of truth about it. It was to Far-fetched to be purely fiction.

Suspenseful

Great read
This book left off from the cursed thief which was also a great read, I know this is fiction James takes it up a notch with the unbelievable, keep up the great writing.

I just love these books. Makes me wish I was Charlee wanting to have lots of adventures. Can’t wait for the next book to come out I have purchased them all so far.

Another great read by Matt James, I am thoroughly enjoying this series. Plenty of twists and turns.
