A good coverage of the topic. The book covers historical background and key issues. Chapters also cover the practice of creating speaking tests for students. Also a section on evaluating speaking tests. The explanation of how factor anaysis is used in research is one of the clearest I've come across. Very useful for students of language testing and anyone who has to teach or assess speaking.
