It all started one day in March of 2018. I was bored. There was nothing to watch on television. And the moment of silence prompted a memory. A flashback to a time I wrote movies in a notebook. Small scenes jotted down for no particular reason. Something compelled me to make a move. I jumped up and ran to my computer, anxious to tell a story of which I could see clearly. The scenes of my cleverly crafted idea so wildly vivid. A face. A name. And twisted plots that would rival any movie.
I began typing. The keystrokes were fervent. Soon one sentence gave way to twenty. One hundred words grew to seventeen thousand. And before I knew it, I had a short story. Proof that anything is possible. So, you might ask if I always wanted to be a writer? Was it somewhere in the back of my mind? No! It wasn’t. But I knew I was creative. And I knew I could tell a story. The rest is history. Now I can say I wrote a book that became a best seller. Downloaded for many book lovers to read and enjoy. And the journey is still fresh. There is so much more to write. I am just getting started!
This book was so close and personal for me. Thanking God for healing me I was able to endure reading about all the secrets and lies a molester can do to a child. Thank you author for this truly enlightened book and I'm looking forward to something positive and happy in book 2.
Sins of the Father had me absolutely wrecked in the worst way possible. I cried, I hurt. This story dives deep into generational trauma, secrets, and the psychological cost of loving the wrong person.
From the moment Monica’s world begins to crack, I was hooked. The signs were there the monster in her husband hiding in plain sight but like Monica, I didn’t want to believe it. The truth, once revealed, was horrifying and heartbreaking. I found myself in tears, stunned by how much damage one man’s choices could cause, not just to his wife, but to his daughters caught in the ripples of his sins.
Smokey Moment doesn't shy away from the raw emotions or the reality of survival. I appreciated the backstory, but what pulled me in most were the incredibly layered women:
Janine, who seems blissfully in love?
Roxane, labeled the rebel, all though I didn't see it.
Calista, a beautiful mess who’s pushing away the very man who wants to love her whole.
And Avery, the confused child caught in the middle of chaos.
Each of them brings a different shade of resilience and pain, and I cannot wait to see how their stories unfold in Book 2.
If you're looking for a story that will grip your soul, make you question what you’d overlook in the name of love, and leave you begging for more, Sins of the Father is it.

My Perception:
This was a sad read about what happened to this family due to one person thinking it was right to do what he did to his family. For the life of me, I couldn't understand why the wife had no clue what was going on with the girls. All that is left to say is when her eyes are finally open. What will happen? I will stop here and tell you I must get the next part 2 to see how this story will turn out for each girl and their mom.
This started off slowly, I appreciate the back story and the look at the players, but I'm more interested in the women involved. Janine seems to be in love and enjoying her time. Roxane was described as the rebel, but I haven't seen her do anything but stand her ground with Rohan. Calista is a walking mess that has a man who wants to love her, but she keeps getting in her own way. Avery is a confused child. I'll read part 2 to see how it all plays out.

This was an unbelievable story. But over all is was a good story just sad. To do something like that is a hellable thing to do to people that close to you. But in reality things do happen like this alot. I really need part 2 to see what the outcome will be with everyone involved. Lata
Something About This Story Told Me From Page 1 That Rohan Was Gonna Be The Cause Of Some If Not All The Mishaps In The Family, The Way His Daughters Felt About Him......Brainwashed. 💯💥💯 GREAT READ💯💥💯 On To Book 2 To Find Out What We're Going Cuz This Book Ended With Me Sitting On The Of Couch!!!!
This has to be one of the worst cases off abuse I’ve read! This man think all his daughters are his to possess and control sexually! His wife was deeply hurt by the discovery and he didn’t even care! She was taken to jail for his murder! I hope her daughters are able to help her beat these charges!! Now on to part two!!
This is some raw, you can't make this stuff up stuff! Monica lives in a vacuum that her husband put her in. He manipulates everything for his own selfish desires. I'm praying that profound justice happens in the next book!
If you looking for a quick read this is the book for you, but be aware of no character development disjointed story, and weird dialogue. All the women look Black and Asian even though both parents are Black 😒
I didn’t see that coming.. I kinda felt all along what’s was happening but Smokey kinda left openings for alternative scenarios… see y’all cuz I gotta get into book 2.. oh! A great read 🤭
This book had me in tears. The damage that was done is unimaginable. The sick fu2k3r. I'm glad there is another book, gives me a month to recover from this one.

I finished this book in a day and a half. It was a great book with the author unraveling the story piece by piece so intricately. I can’t wait to read the sequel!
I listened to Sins of the Father on Audible. It was included in my membership so I didn’t even have to use a credit. It’s so insane the secrets that a family holds. It’s insane how someone can be brainwashed to think that something is ok and they don’t even realize it. All I gotta say is the Senator got what the hell he deserves and I hope everyone can heal.
I would recommend this book. I’m ready for part 2.
