This was such a cute, refreshing story! Jim and Debra’s dynamic was so sweet to follow. Watching the shift from workplace rivalry to genuine trust and romance kept the story lighthearted and fun, and the chimp sanctuary setting added such a unique, charming backdrop to their connection

Jim is such a great hero, admiration from afar turned supportive partner was amazing and Debra’s dedication to her work made her so relatable. While I did find myself wanting to learn a bit more about the inheritance that Louis left Jim, overall it was a really nice, heartwarming read.

If you are looking for a cute, low angst workplace romance with a unique sanctuary setting and a swoon worthy hero, definitely check this one out!

As CEO of Chimp Sanctuary Rescue Debra loves helping chimpanzees live out the rest of their lives in comfort after giving their best years to science, but she's desperately in need of more funding and a veterinarian that will actually stick around.

Veterinarian Jim Hester can't believe the conditions of the Chimpanzee sanctuary when he arrives. The buildings and equipment are in dire need of upgrade and the meager supplies make his job difficult. When he discovers the board members have been tying Debra up in red tape for years he's determined to help her find the fundin g they need to improve the facility.

When the two realize they have feelings for each other will Jim be turned off by Debra's choice to save kissing for the man she really cares about?

I loved the general idea of this story and especially loved Jim's sweet, patient nature. I get this could possibly happen, but with Debra being in her mid thirties her feelings about kissing seemed over the top.

really good. a little frustrating in certain parts.

as someone who has worked along side a SO, it got me peeved that Jim couldn't respect the boundary of Debra when she asked to keep things professional at work. he kind of pushed her to tell people when she originally didn't want to.
