I have always had a passion for technology since I was a little boy. I loved taking things apart to find out how they work and then putting them back together (well, most of the time!)

I am thankful to have had parents who provided me with an excellent education and encouraged me to "tinker." One April Fools Day, I wired our refrigerator light to our doorbell. Whenever my mom opened the refrigerator, the doorbell would ring. She'd run to the front door to find no one there and then go back to the frig. Well, after watching my poor mom for a few minutes, I confessed what I had done. Ha!

Going to college in San Francisco was a rude awaking for a central California boy. It was the late 60's and USF was only a few blocks near Haight Ashbury. I grew up pretty quickly.

When I learned about the college having a computer, that's all it took to ignite the passion.

Lessons Learned in IT by a Super Star....
So much has changed in IT over the years, yet so much has not; this has never been more apparent to me than when I read "Succeeding in Information Technology" by Mike Leonardich. Chapter after chapter, I thought about how Mike has compiled a great set of lessons learned from an incredible career in IT. I have seen so many parallel situations in my technology career; the value of this book is not only an inside view over forty-five years in the high-tech industry but also the timeless advice given in the narratives. The tips and strategies Mike provides can be applied to any career path. This is not a how-to book; it is written in a conversational story format with just the right amount of dry humor sprinkled in. I recommend this book to anyone looking for insight into how to apply problem-solving skills to real-world situations for the best outcome.
